Scouting Creighton (4-2-3, 1-1-1 BIG EAST)
Creighton earned its first BIG EAST victory on Saturday, October 1 as the Bluejays bested Villanova (3-1). The Bluejays got contributions from each of their three leading scorers in the victory, moving the squad to 28 goals on the season.
Junior Duncan McGuire leads the Creighton offense with 16 points on seven goals and two assists, while sophomores Jackson Castro and Owen O'Malley each have six goals. Sophomore Giorgio Probo leads the Bluejays with seven assists.
Senior goalkeeper Paul Kruse has been spectacular with 25 saves in nine matches, including a career-high nine against the Hoyas on September 24. Kruse has limited opponents to 11 goals in 735 minutes.
Scouting St. John's (3-6-2, 1-2-1 BIG EAST)
St. John's comes to Omaha after battling No. 12 Xavier to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday evening. Since starting BIG EAST action with a 3-1 win over Georgetown on Sept. 16, the Red Storm have gone 0-2-1 with one goal scored in three matches.
The Red Storm have 12 goals in 11 matches, led by six from Antek Sienkel. Supporting Sienkel is Wesley Leggett who has a team-high three assists to go with two goals.
St. John's has split time in goal three ways, giving the bulk of the work to Zendan Hart. He has logged just under 500 minutes, allowing four goals (0.73 GAA) and is 3-3-0 on the season.

McGuire Reclaims Team Lead Quickly
Entering the battle with Villanova, junior Duncan McGuire held the team lead with six goals and 14 points. In the win over the Wildcats, sophomores Jackson Castro and Owen O'Malley pulled even at 30:29 and 55:57. McGuire reclaimed the lead with his seventh goal at 81:51, celebrating with his signature flip.
O'Malley Celebrates Birthday with a Game-Winning Goal
Sophomore Owen O'Malley celebrated his birthday on Saturday, October 1 in dramatic fashion. O'Malley delivered the second goal in Creighton's 3-1 win over Villanova. Owen fielded a entry pass on a corner kick, sending the ball to Alfie Pope. The first shot was blocked, bouncing back to O'Malley. The North Carolina native sent the ball into the back of the net to give Creighton a 2-1 edge.
