Rowing Hosts 8th Annual 2K Challenge on Jan. 28

Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton Rowing team continued to build on its best performance in program history, second place at the WCC Championships, as the Bluejays host the 8th Annual 2K Challenge in D.J. Sokol Arena on Saturday, January 28.

The event gives members of the community a chance to compete on Rowing Ergometer (ERG) machines in eight different age categories for both men and women as well as three age categories for kids.

Head coach Dan Chipps referred to the event as a "friendraiser as much as a fundraiser" for his program.

The 2K Challenge was moved to June last year due to rising Covid Concerns in the winter, but is returning to its normal time slot in late January or early February for 2023.

Registration is
** $30/person if you register by January 1, 2023. $35 on/after January 1.

** Registration fee covers individual race and relay entries.

Gold: $500 - have a sponsor table the day of the event, name/logo on the big board in the arena, name/logo on t-shirt (Large Logo), official sponsor of one of the races, business handouts can go in the competitor giveaway bags, 2 complimentary event registrations. (*Can donate a prize to a winners in heats with company logo/brand/membership).

Silver: $300 - name/logo on t-shirt (Smaller Logo), name on the big board in the arena, 1 complimentary event registration. (*Can donate a prize to a winners in heats with company logo/brand/membership).

Women 27-35yrs and Men 27-35yrs

Women 18-26yrs and Men 18-26yrs

Girls 15-18 (not in college) and Boys 15-18 (not in college)

Girls 12-14 (1000m) and Boys 12-14 (1000m)

Girls and Boys Under 12yrs

*Team Relays have no age category - can be coed (2 women and 2 men), all women, OR all men (2000m). Couples relays (1000m). Family relay (2000m) must have at least 2 children 18 or under (not in college).

**Awards will be given for the top 3 finishers in each category at the end of the day!
