
Kazandjian Heads to Canada U20 National Team Camp

MARKHAM, Ontario – Creighton junior Lara Kazandjian earned a spot at the Canadian Women's U20 National Team camp which will be held July 6-10.
The camp, run by Canada Women's U20 National Team Coach Cindy Tye, comes as the squad makes preparations for the FIFA U20 World Cup in Costa Rica from Aug. 10-27.
Canada has qualified for eight editions of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, including earning a silver medal in 2002. Canada U20 Women's National Teams has also won a pair of CONCACAF Women's U20 Championship (2004, 2008).
A transfer from Memphis, Kazandjian appeared in nine matches for the Tigers in 2021 and 10 during the 2020 season. Over the course of two season, she logged 545 minutes of playing time. Kazandjian scored a pair of goals in Memphis' victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on August 26, 2021.
The Kirkland, Quebec, native has been an integral member of the Canada youth national teams since her U15 days. She played in the 2016 CONCACAF Girls U15 Championship in Orlando, Florida, and helped the U17 Canadian National Team to a fourth-place finish at the FIFA World Cup in Uruguay in 2018. Lara also played in the Women's U20 International Series in England during the summer of 2019 and the U20 Women's CONCACAF in 2020.
