Creighton Softball Unveils 2024 Schedule

OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton softball head coach Krista Wood officially unveiled the Bluejays' 2024 schedule on Monday, Nov. 13.
The Bluejays are set to play in four non-conference tournaments and host 20 games, including 12 home contests against conference opponents. Additional, Creighton will play six different teams that made the 2023 NCAA Tournament (Nebraska, Northern Colorado, Omaha, Seton Hall, Southern Illinois and Texas State,).
Creighton opens the season with 23 consecutive road games, starting with five games at the Texas State Tournament in San Marcos, Texas. The Bluejays hit leadoff against SIU and Northwestern State on Feb. 9 before taking on host Texas State and UTSA on Feb. 10. The Texas State Tournament wraps up on Feb. 11 with a matchup against Kennesaw State.
The Bluejays will then travel to DeLand, Fla. for five games on Feb. 16-18 at the Hatter Classic hosted by Stetson. Creighton battles Bethune-Cookman and Stetson on Feb. 16, while match ups against Colgate and Stetson are set for Feb. 17. The Hatter Classic concludes on Feb. 18 with a rematch against Colgate.
The White and the Blue will spend the final weekend of February in sunny California at the Libby Matson Tournament hosted by Pacific. The Bluejays will take on Nevada and Pacific each of the first two day (Feb. 23-24), before closing out the weekend with a contest against Stony Brook on Feb. 25.
March begins with Creighton's fourth and final tournament in Edwardsville, Illinois. The Bluejays take on Loyola and St. Thomas on March 2, before battling Illinois State and SIUE on March 3.
CU will travel to Lawrence, Kan. for a mid-week contest at Kansas on March 5, before opening BIG EAST Conference play on March 8 in Queens for a weekend series against St. John's.
Following 23 straight games on the road, Creighton is scheduled to open its 20-game home slate with a pair of doubleheaders against Rider (March 13) and Northern Colorado (March 15). The Bluejays will then travel down I-80 to battle rival Nebraska on March 16, before another home doubleheader against North Dakota on March 17.
Another five straight games on the road takes Creighton to Kansas City (March 19), Seton Hall (March 22-24) and Drake (March 27). The Bluejays will then play seven of their next eight games at home, which includes matchups against Georgetown (March 28-30), Villanova (April 5-7) and South Dakota (April 12). The one road trip takes the Bluejays across town to battle Omaha on April 2.
Creighton returns to the road for a pair of conference series against Connecticut (April 12-14) and Butler (April 19-21), with a home game against Omaha (April 16) sandwiched in-between. The April 16 matchup with the Mavericks will be the Bluejays Junior Jays Day at the ballpark.
The Bluejays regular season comes to an end with six home games against DePaul (April 26-28) and Providence (May 3-5), including Senior Day on April 27 and Alumni Day on May 4.
The 2024 BIG EAST Softball Championships is scheduled for May 8-11 in Providence, R.I. The top six teams in the final conference regular season standing will play in the postseason tournament, with the winner receiving the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Regionals.
The 64-team NCAA Tournament is slated to start on May 16 and concludes with the NCAA Women's College World Series on May 30 – June 7 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
