Softball Adds Three Transfers for 2027 Season

OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton softball head coach Krista Wood boosted her 2027 signing class on Wednesday, July 8 with the addition of JUCO All-American's Shannon Finn and Macee Reiling, as well as Wichita State transfer and former Skylar Rodgers.
"We are excited to add Shannon, Macee and Skylar to our roster for this upcoming year," said Wood. "They bring speed, power, and versatility to our lineup, and we look forward to the impact they will make both on and off the field."
Finn, a Williamsburg, Iowa native, spent the past two seasons at Kirkwood CC, where she helped the Eagles to 110 wins and a pair of NJCAA World Series appearances. In her two years with the Eagles, Finn appeared in 126 career games, posting a .385 career batting average with 137 hits, including 26 doubles, 13 home runs, 89 RBI, 150 runs scored and 73 stolen bases.
The rising junior shined in her sophomore season, hitting .411 with 20 doubles, 10 homers and 59 RBI as she earned NFCA NJCAA D2 First Team All-American honors. Finn was also named the ICCAC Offensive Player of the Year and to the All-Region First Team this past season after finishing the year ranked third in the NJCAA with 100 runs scored, third with 51 walks and eighth nationally with 48 stolen bases. The standout outfielder also excelled as a freshman, hitting .358 with 30 RBI, 50 runs scored and 25 stolen bases to claim ICCAC First Team All-Region honor.
Finn was a five-year letterwinner at Williamsburg High School, where she was named to the IGHSAU All-State and All-District team four times. She ended her prep career as the Raiders all-time career record holder for hits (236), runs (190), and stolen bases (158), while earning WaMaC All-Conference honors all five years.
As a junior and senior, Finn was selected to the Class 3A State All-Tournament team after guiding the Raiders to back-to-back state championships. As a senior, she earned the E. Wayne Cooley "You Can" Award after hitting .382 with 50 hits, 24 walks, 41 stolen bases and 41 runs. A high-level athlete, Finn was also a star on the track, where she was a five-time state medalist and a three-time participant at the Drake Relays.
Reiling comes to Creighton after spending the previous two seasons at DMACC where she was named an NJCAA First Team All-American following both her freshman and sophomore seasons. While with the Bears, Reiling appeared in 135 games, registering a .471 batting average with 189 hits, including 57 doubles, 30 home runs, 169 RBI, 76 walks and 154 runs scored.
The Dallas Center, Iowa native is coming off a standout sophomore season where she guided the Bears to a runner-up finish at the NJCAA World Series after hitting .449 with a team-high 92 hits, 24 doubles, 17 home runs, 81 RBI and 86 runs scored on the way to being named an ICCAC First Team All-Region and NFCA First Team All-American.
A four-time ICCAC Athlete of the Week, Reiling shined as a freshman earning ICCAC Offensive Player of the Year acclaim after boasting an impressive .495 batting average with 33 doubles, 13 homers and 88 RBI. Her 33 doubles were the second-most in the NJCAA in 2025 while her 88 RBI were tied for the ninth-most nationally. Reiling also excelled in the classroom, earned NJCAA Academic First Team All-Region and All-American honors as a freshman.
A graduate of Dallas Center-Grimes High School, Reiling led the Mustangs to a Little Hawkeye Conference championship and to the Iowa High School Class 5A State Tournament three times. As a senior, Reiling claimed First Team All-State honors after slashing .466/.924/.523 with 13 doubles, 13 home runs and 41 RBI. The standout infielder also captured Second Team All-State honors when she hit .444 with 37 RBI and 36 runs scored and guided the Mustangs to a Class 5A State Runner-up finish as a sophomore.
Rodgers, an infielder from Tuttle, Okla., arrives at Creighton after spending the 2026 season at Wichita State. As a Shocker, Rodgers appeared in 15 games as a pinch runner, scoring a total of nine runs with two stolen bases. Off the field, the rising sophomore excelled in the classroom, earning a spot on the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
Prior to her time with Wichita State, Rodgers graduated from Tuttle High School, where she was a four-year varsity starter. Playing primarily on the infield, Rodgers was marked as the No. 39 ranked recruit by Prep Softball after guiding the Tigers to four Class 4A District championships and three Oklahoma Class 4A State Semifinal appearances. As a senior, Rodgers was named the Class 4A District 2 Player of the Year and to the Middle West All-State First Team after hitting .409 with 10 homers and 65 RBI.
A four-time all-district selection, Rodgers finished her prep career with a .422 career batting average with 277 hits, 66 doubles, 35 triples, 12 home runs, 172 RBI and 66 stolen bases. Rodgers also showcased her talent on the track, qualifying for state in both the long jump and 4x100 relay her senior year.
Creighton finished last season with a 32-27 overall record, posting its first back-to-back-to-back 30-win seasons since 2008-10, while reaching its third consecutive trip to the BIG EAST Tournament Finals.
