Head Coaches Unite for Inaugural Coaches vs. Cancer Preseason Breakfast

Event will benefit the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® in Nebraska
OMAHA [October 2, 2024] – In a powerful show of unity and support for cancer patients and their families, Nebraska's top Division 1 Men's Basketball Coaches – Greg McDermott (Creighton University), Fred Hoiberg (University of Nebraska), and Chris Crutchfield (University of Nebraska Omaha) – are coming together for the Coaches vs Cancer Preseason Breakfast on October 15, 2024 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
This inaugural event, hosted by the American Cancer Society Coaches vs Cancer, will benefit Hope Lodge Nebraska, a home away from home for cancer patients traveling great distances for cancer care.
This event offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to hear directly from Nebraska's coaching community. Over breakfast and networking at the scenic Tiburon Golf Club, guests will get a behind-the-scenes look into the coaches' winning mindsets and strategies for the upcoming season during an engaging Q&A session. But beyond coaching, this unique panel will also explore how communities can unite to support cancer patients and their families, reminding us of the strength in coming together for a common cause.
All proceeds from the event will go toward Hope Lodge Nebraska, a community that provides a home away from home, free of charge, for cancer patients and their caregivers traveling significant distances for outpatient medical care related to cancer diagnoses. These facilities offer a comfortable and caring space, as well as a community of support with others facing the same journey.
By bringing together the leaders of Nebraska's basketball programs, this event hosted by the American Cancer Society highlights the power of teamwork—not just in sports, but in fighting cancer and lifting up those who need it most.
