
Bluejay Softball Announces 2025 Schedule

OMAHA, Neb. – Twenty home contests and road tests against five 2024 NCAA Tournament teams (Omaha, Saint Mary's, Southern Illinois, Texas State and Villanova) highlight Creighton's 2025 softball schedule, announced by head coach Krista Wood on Friday, Dec. 20.
Fresh off a BIG EAST Finals appearance, Wood's begins her third season in the Bluejays dugout with 23 consecutive games on the road, starting with five games at the Kickin' Chicken Classic in Conway, S.C. CU hits leadoff against Merrimack and host Coastal Carolina on Feb. 7, before taking on Purdue Fort Wayne and Coastal Carolina again on Feb. 8. The Kickin' Chicken Classic wraps up on Feb. 9 with a second matchup against Purdue Fort Wayne.
The Bluejays will then travel to Georgia for five games on Feb. 14-16 at the Kennesaw State Tournament. Creighton battles Northern Kentucky and Morehead State on Feb. 14, while matchups against Northern Kentucky and Kennesaw State await on Feb. 15. The Jays' will then conclude the weekend with a rematch against Morehead State on Feb. 16.
The White and the Blue will spend the final full weekend of February in the Lone Star state at the San Marcos Classic hosted by Texas State. The Bluejays will take on Kansas and Texas State on Feb. 21, before battling Southern Illinois and Texas State once again on Feb. 22. The San Marcos Classic concludes on Feb. 23 with a matchup against Southern Illinois.
February end and March begins with Creighton's fourth and final tournament in sunny California. The Bluejays take on UNLV and host UC Santa Barbara on Feb. 28, before matching up against Saint Mary's and UNLV on March 1. The Jays will then close out play against UC Santa Barbara on March 3.
Creighton then opens BIG EAST play with back-to-back road trips, traveling to Providence on March 7-9 and to defending BIG EAST champions Villanova on March 14-16, with a home non-conference matchup against Drake (March 11) sandwiched in between.
The Bluejays will take advantage of their BIG EAST bye week and will return home to host Kansas City on March 19, before hosting a four-game weekend series against Seattle on March 22-23. Following a midweek contest against St. Thomas on March 25, Creighton will close out the month of March by hosting Connecticut on March 28-30 in their BIG EAST home opener.
The Bluejays close out a 10-game home-stand with a crosstown battle against Omaha on April 1, before returning to the road for a weekend series against Georgetown on April 4-6 in the Nation's Capital. The Bluejays will then travel down I-80 to battle rival Nebraska on April 9, before back-to-back BIG EAST home series against Butler (April 11-13) and St. John's (April 17-19).
Non-conference play comes to an end on the road against Omaha on April 22, while one final BIG EAST road trip takes the Bluejays to the Windy City to battle DePaul on April 25-27. The Bluejays will then return home and close out the regular season with a three-game series against Seton Hall on May 2-4 in the regular season finale.
The 2025 BIG EAST Tournament will be hosted by defending BIG EAST regular season and tournament champion Villanova from May 7-10. The NCAA Tournament begins with regionals from May 16-19 before Super Regionals (May 23-25), and the Women's College World Series on May 29 in Oklahoma City.
All Creighton softball home games will take place at the Creighton Sports Complex and will be open to the public with free admission.
