#20 Creighton Women's Basketball Heads To St. John's for Friday Night Fight

Omaha, Neb. -- Having already reached 20 wins (20-3), the 20th ranked Creighton Women's Basketball team looks for more as the Bluejays begin a two-game road swing at St. John's on Friday night.

The Bluejays extended their longest win streak (10 games) since the 2008-09 season with an 88-59 win over DePaul on Saturday, February 10.
Senior Emma Ronsiek was dominant in the Creighton victory with 29 points, six assists and five rebounds. Lauren Jensen wasn't bad herself in the win over the Blue Demons, delivering 19 points and eight rebounds.
Ronsiek's 18.3 ppg leads Creighton, while Jensen is just a step back at 17.0 ppg. Morgan Maly join the duo to form a Big Three averaging 14.3 ppg and a team-high 6.2 rpg.

The 88-59 win over DePaul on February 10 gave the Bluejays their tenth consecutive win.
The last time Creighton posted a double digit win streak came as the Bluejays won 11 straight during the 2008-09 season from January 8 (92-63 over Missouri State) to February 14 (66-53 over Southern Illinois).
This is the ninth time in Bluejay history the program has seen a win streak of at least 10 games. The record was set during the 1991-92 season when the Bluejays won 16 games in a row from January 30 to March 18. That squad also had a 12 game win streak from November 30 to January 23.

- Slowing Drake: In the first meeting the Bluejays held Drake to 16 points on 7-for-18 from the field. Creighton will need to keep Drake from exploding for 25 or more.
- Ball Security and Transition Defense: St. John's defense is always strong, but the 2023-24 version thrives on creating turnovers to ignite its offense. In the first meeting Creighton turned the ball over just seven times and St. John's scored just eight points on turnovers.
- Limiting Archer in the Middle: Archer scored 19 points on 7-of-10 from the field and grabbed seven rebounds. Creighton has struggled against strong post players this season and will switch defenses to try to keep Archer off the glass.
