Bluejays History in the BIG EAST Tournament
Playing in their 11th BIG EAST Tournament, Creighton is reaching the semifinals for the 8th time, but the Bluejays have made it to the championship game just one time, that coming in 2017 .
Sunday's game with Georgetown will be the second meeting between the Hoyas and Bluejays in the BIG EAST Tournament, the last going Creighton's way 56-42 in 2021.

Big Three? Nah the Bluejays have a Super Six
When you look at the stats sheet it may seem that Creighton has a Big Three in Jensen (17.4 ppg), Ronsiek (17.1 ppg) and Maly (15.1 ppg). And while those three certainly guide the Bluejays scoring attack, the season isn't near as successful without the three other seniors for Creighton, starters Molly Mogensen, Mallory Brake and reserve Jayme Horan.
Mogensen has consistently stepped forward when Creighton needed a bucket the most over the current 15-1 run. While Brake has done everything for Creighton except score, even delivering in that category versus Xavier. Then Horan simply understands her role better than anyone, scoring 14 points in the win at Seton Hall on March 3, then taking just two shots in the win over Seton Hall on March 9.
The kicker for Creighton's Super Six is all are seniors and each one could return for the 2024-25 season for their Covid year. The entire class has stated publicly they will wait until after the NCAA Tournament to decide upon next season.
Flanery Continues to Level Up with 25 Wins
For the first time under head coach Jim Flanery, the Creighton Bluejays can boast about reaching 20 wins over .500, closing the regular season at 24-4.After the win over Seton Hall in the BIG EAST Quarterfinals push that number to 25-4. The total of 25 wins equals the most under Flanery as Creighton went 25-8 during the 2012-13 campaign. It also sits within reach of the program record of wins of 28 as the 1991-92 squad went 28-4.
New BIG EAST Schedule Foiled as Bluejays and Hoyas Will Face off for a Second Time
Moving from 20 BIG EAST games down to 18 this season, each squad was limited to one game against two teams. For the Bluejays it drew one contest with Georgetown and Providence. Â
Creighton faced Georgetown in Washington, D.C. in January and played Providence at home during the same month.
The Hoyas and Bluejays foiled this plan as the two teams will meet for a second time on Sunday.
