Women's Golf Earns Sixth Place Finish in BIG EAST Championship Tune-Up

Eleanor Hudepohl earns yet another top 10 finish
ELKHORN, Neb. -- The Creighton women's golf team placed sixth at the Stampede at the Creek in the squad's final tune-up for the upcoming BIG EAST Championships. Junior Eleanor Hudepohl led Creighton with a tie for 10th place, her fifth top-10 finish of the season.
Hudepohl was CU's top finisher for the seventh time in 10 tournaments, shooting rounds of 77, 72 and 79 for a 228 total. Her second round performance was her 12th career round of par or better, extending her program record. The Cincinnati, Ohio, product will seek back-to-back First Team All-BIG EAST accolades at the league championship.
A pair of freshmen tied for 28th place with 235 aggregates. Annie Dawson was consistent with rounds of 79, 78 and 78, while Katharine Marshall opened with an 80 before following that up with loops of 76 and 79.
Sophomore Annika Yturralde finished 35th overall as she had back-to-back 78s after a first round 81.
Rounding out the Bluejay contingent was Karsen Morrison (76-86-82=244) and Abby Aeschleman (84-86-76=246).. The rounds of 76 were the best performances of the season for each freshman.
Creighton's (312-304-311=927) 927 total put the Jays in sixth place of the team standings, six shots ahead of crosstown rival Omaha (310-308-315=933). North Dakota State (299-299-294=892) won the team title by three shots over Summit League rival St. Thomas (298-308-289=895). The Tommies did claim the top two spots in the race for medalist honors, as Isabelle Lynch (76-72-68=216) tied a program-record with a final-round 68 to take the title by one shot over teammate Kathryn VanArragon (72-75-70=217).
The event featured 10 teams and 64 participants on the Par 72 layout that measured 6,068 yards at The Club at Indian Creek.
Creighton closes out the regular-season on April 20-22 at the BIG EAST Championships Presented by JEEP, which will return to Callawassie, S.C.
