OKATIE, S.C. -- Sophomore Julia Karmazin and junior Katharine Marshall both shot a 77 on Monday in the third and final round of the BIG EAST Women's Golf Championships presented by JEEP. The performances helped Creighton place sixth in the field, one shot behind Seton Hall for fifth place.
Karmazin (77-76-77=230) led Creighton, as she tied for 15th place and moved her season scoring average to 76.10. A year ago, Karmazin placed 16th at the league tournament.
Morgan Becker (81-70-82=233) and freshman Madison Murnan (78-77-78=233) tied for 21st place. Becker's second round 70 was her fourth round of the season of par or better and helped the senior finish with CU's team lead in scoring average for the 2025-26 campaign. Her single-season scoring average (75.78) and career scoring average (76.81) both rank third-best at Creighton in the past 25 years. Murnan completed her third tournament of the spring with three rounds in the 70s.
Marshall (82-82-77=241) finished 33rd with a 241 total after leading CU with a 10th place showing at this tournament a year ago, just ahead of junior Karsen Morrison (83-82-79=244) and sophomore Kayla Maletto (84-80-81=245) for 34th and 35th, respectively.
After opening with rounds of 318 and 303, Creighton flirted with a top-five finish in the team standings before being edged out by a single stroke behind Seton Hall (317-298-316=931). Xavier (301-285-285=871) won its seventh consecutive BIG EAST Tournament, and the automatic bid to NCAA Regionals awarded to the winner, thanks to a 22-shot victory over St. John's (304-287-302=893).
Xavier's Madison Reemsnyder (72-70-67=209), the nation's No. 138 ranked player, won the tournament by nine shots over teammates Isabel Brozena (76-70-72=218) and Darrelyn Webster (76-72-72=220).
The tournament was contested at Callawassie Island Golf Club, a Par 72 layout that measured 6,208 yards on Saturday, 6,080 yards on Sunday and 6,230 yards on Monday.
Creighton returns to the course in the fall, with Becker the only senior on the current roster.
