LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Creighton University Athletics marketing staff was presented with seven "Best Of" awards in Group II at the 2024 National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) Convention.
The NACMA "Best Of" Awards program, presented by Old Hat, recognizes the best marketing practices across all NCAA athletic marketing departments for the 2023-24 year. Group II consists of all FCS/Division I-AAA institutions. The Bluejays were awarded four golds, two silvers and one bronze out of the 20 presented categories. This is the first time Creighton has earned any "Best Of" awards.
"Being able to represent Creighton on a national level is always an honor," Sr. Director, Marketing & Fan Engagement George Crook said. "Getting the opportunity to be recognized and awarded for our entire athletic department's hard work by leaders in the industry and our peers is special. I couldn't be prouder of our Assistant Director of Marketing, Derek Ravlin, and our Marketing Graduate Assistant, Kinley Hansen, who have put so much effort into this year's marketing success. We are excited to bring some hardware back to Omaha!"
Creighton secured the highest honors in the Fundraising Campaign, Quick Sales Campaign, Game Day Promotion, and Student Engagement categories. The two silver awards were won in the Digital Media Engagement and Game Day Experience categories. The remaining bronze award was given for the Affinity Group Marketing category. The seven total "Best Of" awards were the most out of all Group II institutions and resulted in Creighton being named a finalist for the Marketing Team of the Year Award along with the University of Delaware and University of Montana.
"We have a talented, passionate and hard-working group not only on our marketing and fan experience staff but our entire external team," said Executive Associate Athletic Director for External Operations Mike Odom. "These awards represent a collective effort by many departments to provide best-in-class experiences for our student-athletes, coaches and all of Bluejay nation."
