Nolan Clifford Selected by Colorado Rockies in 2024 MLB Draft

Omaha, Neb. -- Senior Nolan Clifford become the 40th player selected in MLB Draft since Ed Servais became the head coach of Creighton in 2004, going in the 17th round to the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday, July 16.
Clifford was the 498th overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft after hitting .348 with 54 hits, 38 runs scored, eight doubles, five home runs and 37 RBI during the 2024 season. Throughout four seasons at Creighton, Clifford appeared in 162 games, starting 152. He closed his career with a .278 average, 84 RBI, eight home runs and 97 hits.
"This is something you always wished and worked for, but it was amazing to actually happen," said Clifford.
Clifford is the first Bluejay since Alan Roden and Dylan Tebrake were both selected on July 18, 2022. He will report to Arizona for Rookie Camp in the coming weeks.
