Heartbreak Strikes In Final Seconds as Bluejay Men's Soccer Settles for 2-2 Draw with #18 Providence

Providence, R.I. -- Less than five seconds from bringing home a road win over No. 18 Providence, the hearts of Bluejay nation was dashed by a Friar goal that forced Creighton to settle for a 2-2 draw on Saturday, September 28.
The results moved the Bluejays to 4-2-3 on the season and 0-1-1 in BIG EAST action, while the Friars closed the contest at 6-2-2 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play.
Creighton raced out a to a 2-0 lead on goals from Ali Ramadan in the 12th minute (11:26) and Roman Torres in the 48th minute (47:55), but Providence answered with a pair of unassisted goals from Bruno Rosa in the 61st (60:11) and 90th minutes (89:56)
Matthew Reed seemed to save the match for the Bluejays with under 10 seconds remaining as he stopped a shot from Rosa for a team save. The clear attempt, however, came right to the foot of Rosa for his second goal of the contest.
Providence out shot Creighton 17-12 in the match, while the two teams each earned five corner kicks.
The Bluejays are back in action quickly as Creighton faces (RV) Missouri State in a neutral site contest in Kansas City on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 6:00 p.m.
