OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton Women's Soccer standout Lara Kazandjian has officially joined the professional ranks, signing her first professional contract with RC Lens in the French Football Federation and League One on Friday, January 31.
"I'm extremely grateful for this incredible opportunity at RC Lens," said Kazandjian. "It has always been a childhood dream of mine to play professionally in Europe, and to be able to accomplish that makes me very proud. I can't wait to get started and I'm excited for this new chapter ahead!"
Kazandjian, a First Team All-BIG EAST Selection in 2022, appeared in 51 matches, logging 3,183 minutes on the pitch over three seasons with the Bluejays. The Kirkland, Quebec, Canada native finished her Bluejay career with a total of five goals, including three game-winners, while dishing out four total assists. Additionally, Kazandjian excelled in the classroom, earning College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors twice, while pursuing a degree in Exercise Science and Pre-Health professions from Creighton.
Kazandjian has also put together an impressive international resume, serving time on the Armenian Women's National Team during Euro 2025 qualifying matches in 2024. In addition, Kazandjian spent time with the Canadian Youth National Team growing up. She guided her team to a fourth-place finish at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Uruguay in 2017, and served as a key contributor on her U20 team that participated in the Women's CONCACAF in 2020.
"It's great to see Lara Kazandjian signing a pro contract for RC Lens in France," said head coach Jimmy Walker. "It is a great club with a huge history, and we are excited that she gets to go play at the next level. Lara has been a pleasure to coach and is a hard-working young lady. She has a great pedigree at the international level, and I have no doubt that she is going to go on and crush it at the professional level. It is a very exciting time her at Creighton, seeing so many players going on to play at the professional level and we could not be prouder of Lara."
