BIG EAST play continues to roll on as Creighton (4-3-2, 0-0-1 BIG EAST) matches up with Villanova (6-0-3, 1-0-0 BIG EAST) and St. John's (3-5-1, 0-1-0 BIG EAST) this week.
The action starts on Wednesday, Sept. 30 as the Bluejays take on Villanova at 11 a.m. for Kid's Day at Morrison Stadium.
Creighton will then head to the Big Apple to battle St. John's in its first conference road test on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. Central in Queens, N.Y.

Wednesday is Creighton inaugural Kid's Day Match. Hundreds of local students will be in attendance to get their first taste of Division I women's soccer. Every kid in attendance will receive a custom Bluejay activity book from Billy Bluejay.

Scouting Creighton (4-3-2, 0-0-1 BE)
Creighton is 4-3-2 this season and 0-0-1 in BIG EAST play after posting a 1-1 draw with Providence last Saturday in the league opener. After an 0-2 start, the Bluejays settled in and posted shutouts in five of their next six matches, recording victories over Kansas City, Missouri, Northern Colorado and Omaha.
Senior Olivia Duray paces the Bluejays offensive with seven points on a team-high three goals and an assist, while sophomore Sarah Hyde follows closely behind with two goals and an assist this season.
Junior Anna Bragg and sophomore Jalen Chaney have also contributed to the Bluejays success with one goal apiece, while sophomore Olivia Sides leads the way with two assists.
Defensively the Bluejays have been spectacular, posting five shutouts this season with fifth-year Kailey Hall and junior transfer Morgan Paley having split time in between the post. Paley leads the way and ranks seventh in the BIG EAST with a 0.87 goals against average with 19 saves, while Hall owns a 1.53 goals against average and 10 saves in 293 minutes of action.
Creighton was picked to finish fourth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' poll as Jimmy Walker coaches his 19th season with a 195-113-34 career record.
Scouting Villanova (6-0-3, 1-0-0 BE)
Off to their best start since 2007, Villanova enters Wednesday's matchup unbeaten with a 6-0-3 record and a 1-0-0 mark in the BIG EAST following a 2-0 win over St. John's last Saturday.
The Wildcats have posted lopsided victories over Lehigh (9-0), Columbia (2-0), Iona (11-0), Penn (1-0), Delaware (2-1) and St. John's (2-0), while earning draws with Syracuse, Bucknell and Princeton.
Powered by a stout offense, Villanova boasts the best goal differential in the BIG EAST at 26 goals, outscoring it opponents 28-2, behind goals from 13 different Wildcats this season. Overall, Villanova ranks 17th nationally with 86 points on 28 goals and 30 assists.
Sophomore Avrie Nelson paces the Villanova offense with 11 points on a team-best five goals and an assist, while Dez Zapata, Kaydee Amorosa, Gabby Koluch and Amalia Cardo have each contributed three goals apiece.
Zapata and Morgan Kotch have each dished out a team-high four assists with seven additional Wildcats recorded at least two helpers this season.
Defensively, the Wildcats have been just as spectacular, posting seven shutouts in their first nine contests. Villanova's two goals allowed to this point are its fewest through nine games since 2007.
Preseason BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year, Hannah Dickinson, has anchored the Villanova back line all fall, ranking second in the BIG EAST with a 0.24 goals against average, while snaring 11 saves in 737 minutes of action.
Villanova was picked fifth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll, while head coach Samar Azem is in her fifth season with an 28-30-21 overall record at the helm of the Wildcats.
Series History Against the Wildcats
Creighton and Villanova have battled 12 times previously with both teams owning six wins in the all-time series.
The Bluejays were victorious in the last meeting between the two sides as the Jays left Philly with a 1-0 win, thanks to the first career goal from Olivia Sides last season.
CU is 3-3-0 in matches played in Omaha but have not won at home since 2022.
Head coach Jimmy Walker is 1-1-0 against Villanova and Samar Azem as a head coach.
Scouting St. John's (3-5-1, 0-1-0 BE)
St. John's enters Wednesday's contest at UConn sporting a 3-5-1 overall record and an 0-1-0 mark in the BIG EAST after falling to Villanova last Saturday. The Red Storm have picked up wins this season over Towson (2-1), UMBC (2-0) and Central Connecticut State (1-0) while earning a scoreless draw with Columbia on the road.
St. John's has struggled to produce offensively this season, ranking tied for ninth in the BIG EAST in goals (7), despite ranking third in saves (31) and sixth in goals allowed (9).
Seven different Johnnies have scored a goal this year with Nora Basile leading the way with a team-high three points on a goal and an assist.
Graduate netminder Kayla Bower, meanwhile, has anchored the group defensively, recording 31 saves and a 1.01 goals against average in 799 minutes of action.
St. John's was picked ninth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' poll this season as head coach Ian Stone is in his 33rd season with the Red Storm.
Series History Against The Red Storm
Creighton and St. John's have met 13 times previously, with the first meeting dating back to 1991. The Bluejays trail the all-time series 3-7-3 with all three victories coming in Omaha.
Creighton is 0-3-3 all-time against St. John's in matches played in Queens with its most recent result coming via a 1-1 draw in 2022.
Last season, Creighton used goals from Anna Bragg, Jalen Chaney and Brynn Gardner to clinch a spot in the BIG EAST Tournament for the second straight season with a 3-0 shutout win over the Johnnies in Omaha.
Head coach Jimmy Walker is 1-1-0 against St. John's and Ian Stone as a head coach.
Going the Distance
Creighton and Villanova will meet for the 13th time in program history on Wednesday morning, having traded gut punches throughout the previous 12 meetings.
In the Bluejays six victories, Creighton has outscored Villanova 10-2 with four shutouts. Villanova on the other hand has outscored Creighton 12-2 in its six victories, owning four shutouts of their own.
Creighton has averaged 1.67 goals in six all-time wins over Villanova, but just 0.33 in its six losses against the Wildcats.
Paley Keeps Impressing with PK Diving Save
Facing her first penalty kick of the season, junior goalkeeper Morgan Paley stepped up and stopped a Providence penalty kick with a diving save in the 10th minute of the Bluejays' 1-1 draw with the Friars on Sept. 26.
Ironically, Paley's PK stop was the first penalty kick save by a Bluejay goalkeeper in exactly two years as Alyssa Zalac smothered a PK opportunity by Villanova on Sept. 26, 2024.
Paley became just the seventh Bluejay netminder to record a penalty kick save since joining the BIG EAST prior to the 2013 season. In total, Creighton has stopped 10 PK attempt since 2013 and at least one PK in nine of their 14 seasons in the league.

Paley Lands Spot on BIG EAST Honor Roll
Junior goalkeeper Morgan Paley landed a spot on this week's BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after guiding Creighton to a 1-1 draw with Providence on Sept. 26.
The McKinney, Texas native recorded a career-high four saves in the draw against the Friars, highlighted by a penalty-kick save and another stop on the ensuing opportunity to keep Providence off the scoreboard early.
Duray Dials In
Senior Olivia Duray has more than doubled her career point total this season, having recorded a team-high seven points on three goals and an assist in the first nine matches of her senior year.
Duray netted the Bluejays first goal of the season at Colorado College on Aug. 12 and added the game-winner in the Jays' 1-0 win over Kansas City on Aug. 27. She then assisted on the game-winning goal in the Bluejays' 1-0 Socctoberfest win over Northern Colorado on Sept. 4, before delivering the equalizer in the Jays' 1-1 BIG EAST opening draw against Providence on Sept. 26.
The Illinois native recorded five point on a goal and three assists last season, after not collecting a point in her first two seasons at Pittsburgh.
In Search of Offense
Despite having a sharp defense that has posted five clean sheets in the first nine matches of the season, Creighton has grinded out a bunch of one-nil smash-and-grab contests.
In nine matches this season, Creighton has only managed to score seven goals but enters Wednesday's contest against Villanova with a 4-3-2 overall record.
The Bluejays seven goals are the fewest goals scored through nine matches in program history and are tied for the 37th-fewest in the NCAA this season.
In spite of scoring only seven goals this fall, CU is the only team in the BIG EAST to have yet to score two goals in a match. If fact, Creighton has not scored more than one goal in a match in 10 straight contests, dating back to a 3-0 win over St. John's in the regular season finale last season.
The 10 consecutive matches without scoring two goals is the longest stretch without scoring two goals in a match in program history, surpassing the previous longest mark of nine straight contests from the end of 2011 to the beginning of 2012.
Packed House
With more than 1,500 kids scheduled to fill Morrison Stadium on Wednesday, we look back at some of the largest crowds to witness a Creighton women's soccer match.
Creighton has already hosted three of the top 19 largest crowds in program history this season, including the fourth-largest crowd of 3,521 fans for its Socctoberfest match against Northern Colorado on Sept. 4. It marked the third consecutive Socctoberfest celebration in which Creighton hosted a pack crowd of more than 3,500 fans.
In addition, five of the top 18 largest crowds in program history have been during socctoberfest matches, which includes last season when the Jays welcomed in a then-program record 3,673 fans for the Bluejays' 3-3 draw against No. 13 Arkansas.
Earlier this season, Creighton hosted the then eighth-largest home crowd in program history, when 1,968 fans filed in to watch the Bluejays defeat Kansas City, 1-0, on Aug. 27.
Last season Creighton hosted four of the top eight largest single-match crowds in program history, including a school record 3,985 fans during the Kicks for a Cure match against Omaha (Sept. 10).
Additionally, Creighton saw an average of 1,676 fans attend their matches in 2025, an increase of 652 fans per match from 2024. The 652 average fan increase was the third-largest increase of any Division I school from 2024 to 2025.
In total, 13 of the top 19 largest home crowds have come since the Bluejays made the move to the BIG EAST in 2013.

Some Loyal Fans
Since Jimmy Walker took over prior to the 2024 season, Creighton has seen its attendance numbers climb to new heights.
Creighton fans have shown out in a big way through the first five home matches this season. The Bluejays currently rank 10th nationally in average home attendance (1,514) and 15th in total home attendance (7,571) through six weeks of the season.
CU has hosted two of the top nine largest crowds in program history this season, including the fourth-largest crowd of 3,521 fans for its annual Socctoberfest match against Northern Colorado on Sept. 4.
Creighton's 7,571 home fans this fall already ranks fifth-most in program history, and there's still four home matches left on the docket. In addition, the 1,514 fans per home match so far puts CU just off pace of breaking the program record for single season average home attendance for a third straight season.
Creighton fans showed up in a big way last season, setting a single season program record with 15,085 total spectators. The Bluejays finished the year ranked ninth nationally in average home attendance (1,676) and 15th in total home attendance (15,085).
CU's 15,085 total fans surpassed the previous single season record set in 2019 by nearly 6,000 fans. Last year marked the first time in program history Creighton has hosted more than 10,000 fans in a season. In addition, the 1,676 fans per home match were the most in a single year ever.

Official RPI Rankings Updated
The second official RPI Rankings were released by the NCAA on Monday. The Bluejays were listed at No. 190 in the initial release but have risen to 179 following a 1-1 draw with Providence last week.

Creighton in BIG EAST Openers
Creighton entered its 14th season in the BIG EAST with a 1-1 draw against Providence on Sept. 26 to move to 3-9-2 in BIG EAST openers.
CU's 1-1 draw last Saturday snapped a four-match BIG EAST opener losing streak as the Bluejays recorded its first results since a 1-1 draw against No. 25 Georgetown in 2021. The Bluejays last win in a BIG EAST opener was in 2019, when the Jays defeated DePaul, 2-0, behind goals from Skylar Heinrich and Kylin Grubb.
Additionally, the Bluejays Sept. 26 BIG EAST opener against the Friars marked the ninth time in 14 seasons that Creighton began BIG EAST play at home.
Head coach Jimmy Walker has had incredible success in conference openers, logging an 11-3-4 overall record in league lid-lifters, but is now 0-2-1 at Creighton.

Creighton Picked Fourth In BIG EAST Preseason Poll
Coming off its second consecutive BIG EAST Tournament appearance, the Creighton women's soccer team was picked fourth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league announced on Monday, Aug. 3.
Creighton's preseason prognosis of fourth place is its highest preseason pick since joining the BIG EAST prior to the 2013 season. In the previous 13 seasons in the league, Creighton has improved its preseason ranking six times, been ranked correctly five times, and dropped from preseason expectations just twice.
The Bluejays earned 73 points in the preseason coaches' poll to place fourth, five points behind third place finisher Xavier. The Jays' went 7-8-4 and finished fourth in the BIG EAST last season, before bowing out of the postseason in the semifinals of the BIG EAST Tournament. The squad returns six regular starters and has 17 underclassmen to continue to build upon the programs most successful two year stretch in over a decade.
Defending BIG EAST regular-season champion Georgetown claimed the top spot with 98 points, including eighth first-place votes. UConn tallied two first-place votes and a total of 89 points to place second, while Xavier captured the remaining first-place vote and 78 points to finish third. Creighton followed closely behind with 73 points and a fourth-place finish, while Villanova (66) and Providence (60) closed out the top six. Marquette (40), Butler (39), St. John's (28), DePaul (15) and Seaton Hall (15) rounded out the bottom half of the poll in 2026.
The top four teams in the final league standings will qualify for the 2026 BIG EAST Championship Presented by JEEP. The semifinals on Nov. 11 (1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3) and title match on Nov. 14 will be played at the Maryland Soccer Complex in Boyds, Md.

League Opener History
Following a 1-1 draw with Providence on Sept. 26, Creighton now owns a 13-13-4 record all-time in conference openers, including a 3-9-2 mark since joining the BIG EAST prior to the 2013 season.
The Bluejays are now 11-5-3 when opening conference play at home, which includes a 7-4-4 mark since moving into Morrison Stadium.
In total, Creighton is 15-10-4 in conference home openers, including a 3-9-2 mark since entering the BIG EAST.
In the 16 seasons that Creighton has posted a result in its conference opener, it has finished .500 or better in league play 11 times and owns a combined .545 (54-44-13) winning percentage. On the other hand, the four times Creighton has had a result in its BIG EAST opener its has finished with a losing record in league play.
Walking Bluejays into Conference Success
Head coach Jimmy Walker has certainly enjoyed more than his fair share of success in conference play throughout his career. In the midst of his 19th season as a head coach, Walker owns a 117-40-18 overall record in conference play, including a 9-7-5 record in the BIG EAST play at Creighton.
Walker's nine wins in BIG EAST play in his first two seasons with the Bluejays were the most wins in conference play by a head coach at Creighton in program history.
With a win on Wednesday, Walker will tie former head coach Bruce Erikson for the most league wins in the first three seasons as a head coach at Creighton in school history.

Sides Earns BIG EAST DPOW
Sophomore defender Olivia Sides was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced on Sept. 21.
Sides was a steady piece of the Bluejays' defensive unit last week, helping Creighton record its fifth shutout of the season in a 1-0 victory over Omaha on Sept. 16.
The standout sophomore played the full 90 minutes for the fifth time this season, notching her first assist of the year, dishing out a helper on the game-winning goal in the opening minutes of the second half against the Mavericks.
This marked the second BIG EAST weekly honor of Sides' career as she was also named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 3rd last season.
Not To Bragg or Anything
Junior forward Anna Bragg was the hometown hero, netting the game-winner in the Bluejays' 1-0 win over Omaha on Sept. 16.
The Omaha native stepped up in a big way, delivering the game-winner with a header in the 47th minute off a set piece from sophomore Olivia Sides.
The game-winner was her first goal of the season and the third game-winning goal of her career, snapping an eight-match goal less streak that dates back to her game-winning goal against St. John's last season.
Tough to Crack
Anchored by a pair of goalkeepers and a young back line, Creighton's defensive unit has been tough to crack all season long, posting five shutouts in the first nine matches of the season.
After falling to Colorado College and Air Force, 3-1, in the opening week of the season, Creighton's defensive unit recorded four consecutive shutouts and held its opponents scoreless for 429 consecutive minutes.
The Bluejays four straight shutouts were tied for the fourth-longest streak in program history and the longest streak since the Jays recorded a program record five clean sheets between Aug. 28 and Sept. 12 in 2021.
Creighton's five shutouts this season are tied for tied for the 36th-most in the NCAA this season and are the most in a single season since recording seven shutouts in 2021.

Locked Down Defense
After giving up six goals in the first three halves of the 2026 season, Creighton settled in and posted four consecutive shutouts while holding its opponents scoreless for better than 429 minutes (429:24).
Pushing five straight shutouts, Creighton had its scoreless streak snapped in the 23rd minute against Gonzaga on Sept. 13 at 429:24 minutes. The Bluejays 429:24 scoreless streak was the fifth-longest scoreless streak in program history and the longest scoreless streak by a Bluejay squad since the Jays held its opponents scoreless for 507:38 straight minutes over seven matches in 2021.
The record for a Creighton scoreless streak is over 612 minutes (612:15) stretching from the final two matches of 2008 into the opening five contest of 2009.

Keeping Things Clean
Creighton's goalkeeper duo of fifth-year Kailey Hall and junior Morgan Paley have been dominant through non-conference play this season.
The dynamic duo combined to hold its opponents scoreless for better than 429 minutes (429:24) and have posted a shutout in five of the first nine matches this fall.
Hall and Paley combined for the Bluejays first shutout of the season against Iowa State on Aug. 23 and followed it up with clean sheets against Kansas City, Missouri and Northern Colorado, before Paley recorded her first solo shutout in a 1-0 win over Omaha on Sept. 16.
The combined shutout against Iowa State marked the first time Creighton has posted a shutout where multiple goalkeepers played at least 45 minutes since Alicia Montgomery and Katie Jo Swanson combined for a double-overtime shutout against South Dakota State on August 20, 2010.
In addition, this is the first time since 2009 that Creighton has recorded multiple combined shutouts in the same season.
Bringing the Physicality
Over the course of the last few years there is one portion of the game that Creighton is not shy to bring, and that is the physicality.
In nine matches this season, Creighton has racked up 104 fouls and a total of 17 yellow cards. The Bluejays 17 yellow cards are tied for the ninth-most in the NCAA while the 11.58 fouls per game are the 27th-most in the country this season.
During the Bluejays' scoreless draw with Iowa State on Aug. 23, Creighton was booked with five yellow cards and called for 17 fouls over the course of the match. The Bluejays five yellow cards were the most in a single match since at least 2000 and tied for the most in a single match in the NCAA this season.
In 19 matches last year, Creighton racked up 227 fouls and a total of 27 yellow cards. The Bluejays' 11.95 fouls per game were tied for the 15th-most in the country, while its 27 yellow cards were tied for the 12th-most in the NCAA last year.
CU's 27 yellow cards last fall were the second-most in a single season since at least 2000, trailing only the 29 yellow cards in 2024. By comparison, the Bluejays were booked for just six yellow cards and ranked 301st out of 335 DI teams in 2021.

Drawing First Blood
Scoring first in soccer has its advantages and that has proved to be the difference for the Bluejays over the last decade.
Through the first nine matches this season, Creighton is 4-0-0 when scoring first, but 0-3-1 when the opponent nets the iniial goal.
Last fall, Creighton went 5-0-1 when scoring first, but 2-8-3 when the opponent found the back of the net first, with CU's two wins coming against Omaha (Sept. 10) and DePaul (Oct. 18).
In addition, CU had tremendous success when taking a lead into the break as the Bluejays were 4-0-1 when leading at halftime, but 2-2-2 when trailing and 1-6-1 when tied at the break last season.
Since joining the BIG EAST in 2013, Creighton owns a 55-13-14 when finding the back of the net first. However, the Bluejays are 21-90-12 when the opponent scores first and 0-0-9 in scoreless draws.

Bluejay Defense is the Key
Defense has been a focal point for Creighton over the past decade, developing a pattern that has led the Jays to success in the three seasons under head coach Jimmy Walker.
Through nine matches this season, Creighton has allowed a total of 10 goals, owning a 4-0-2 mark with five shutouts when allowing fewer than two goals, while holding an 0-3-0 record when allowing more than two goals this fall.
Since joining the BIG EAST in 2013, Creighton owns an impressive 85-27-28 record when holding its opponents to one goal or less, including an 18-5-5 mark under Walker.
Conversely, the Jays are 13-78-7 when allowing two or more goals, and 1-13-3 under Walker. The Bluejays lone win under Walker when allowing two or more goals came last fall when the Jays rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Omaha on Sept. 10.

Scoring Two Works Almost Everytime
It would stand to reason that scoring goals increases a team's chances of winning. For the Bluejays, that is most certainly the case.
Since the program began in 1989, Creighton owns a 283-23-15 all-time record when scoring two or more goals in a match, which includes a 6-0-2 record from last season. On the flip side, the Bluejays are 51-264-55 when being held to fewer than two goals.
Additionally, the Bluejays are 76-8-6 when scoring two or more goals and 19-97-27 when netting fewer than two goals since joining the BIG EAST in 2013.
Reaching The Summit
Creighton has enjoyed success against teams from the Summit League over the past two decades, owning a 64-11-8 all-time record against current members, including a pair of 1-0 wins over Kansas City and Omaha this season.
With wins over the Roos and Mavericks, Creighton extended its unbeaten streak against current members of the Summit League to 17 straight matches, dating back to a 4-2 loss at Kansas City in 2018.
Over the past 22 seasons, Creighton has battled at least one current member of the Summit League in 21 of those seasons. The only season the Bluejays did not match-up against a Summit League opponent was during the 2020 Covid-19 shorten season.

Creighton picked up its ninth consecutive win over Omaha on Sept. 16 with a 1-0 shutout to extend its winning streak to nine consecutive matches, its longest active winning streak against another foe.
The nine straight wins over Omaha are the third-most consecutive wins over one team in program history, trailing only the 14 straight wins over Indiana State from 2000 to 2011 and the 10 straight wins over South Dakota from 2007 to 2016.
In addition, Creighton's nine match unbeaten streak against Omaha is the sixth longest streak in program history.

Felton Nabs Spot on BIG EAST Honor Roll
Junior Macy Felton claimed a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after guiding Creighton to a 1-0 shutout victory over Northern Colorado on Sept. 4.
Felton anchored the Bluejays back line, where she played all 90 minutes, helping limit the Bears to just four shots on goal as the Jays recorded their fourth consecutive shutout, the program's longest shutout streak since 2021.
Late Match Dramatics
Sophomore forward Sarah Hyde came up in the clutch for the Bluejays, delivering the game-winning goal in the 89th minute of the Bluejays' 1-0 win over Northern Colorado on Sept. 4.
Hyde's 89th minute game-winning goal of Northern Colorado was Creighton's 20th game-winning goal with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation and/or in overtime since joining the BIG EAST in 2013.
In addition, Creighton has now scored a game-winning goal during the final 10 minutes of regulation 12 times and a game-winner in golden goal overtime eight times. It also marks the 14th consecutive season that Creighton has scored a game-winning goal in the final 10 minutes of regulation and/or in overtime.
Arguably, Hailey Rothwell continues to own the most dramatic game-winner in recent seasons, scoring in the 110th minute (109:14) of a 2-1 double-overtime win over Montana in the 2021 season opener.

High on Hyde
Sophomore Sarah Hyde has been the definition of clutch, delivering the game-winning goal in two of the Bluejays four wins this season.
The Plymouth, Minn. native recorded the first goal of her collegiate career in the Bluejays' 1-0 victory over Missouri on Aug. 30 and followed it up with the game-winning goal in the Jays' 1-0 win over Northern Colorado on Sept. 4.
Hyde did all the work scoring her first career goal, blocking a pass from Missouri's Mia Yang along the back line and raced up field, where she beat goalkeeper Riley Wilkerson in a 1v1 by slotting the shot just inside the left post to give the Jays a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute (31:57).
She then finished off the game-winning goal in the triumph over Northern Colorado by receiving a series of passes from Kassey Dzenis and Olivia Duray ten yards beyond midfield. and beating a Bears defender to set up a 1-on-1 chance against Northern Colorado keeper Thordoris Melstad. Hyde then blasted a shot from 20 yards out to give Creighton the lead in the 89th minute.
In eight matches this season, Hyde has recorded a team-high five points on two goals and an assist while recording seven shots in 340 minutes of action.
Chaney Represents Mexico in U20 FIFA World Cup
Sophomore Jalen Chaney was one of 21 athletes to represent Mexico as she competed at the 2026 FIFA Women's U20 World Cup in Poland throughout the month of September.
This marked the third time in her short collegiate career that Chaney had been called up to the Mexico U20 National Team, as she was also called up for training camp at the beginning of April and again in early June.
Chaney joined the Mexican U20 squad in late August for final training, before heading to Poland for group stage matches against Benin (T, 2-2), host Poland (L, 2-1) and Argentina (L, 3-2). She played in two of the three group stage matches, logging a combined 23 total minutes of action.
Chaney, a native of Flower Mound, Texas, played in 13 games as a rookie for the Bluejays in 2025. Battling injuries, she logged just 413 minutes but ranked second on the team with four goals and three assists, earning BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors twice.
Chaney was deeply missed as she had already contributed to the scoring this season, netting the Bluejays' lone goal against Air Force on Aug. 16.
Socctoberfest Success
Creighton continued its success during the Bluejays 12th annual Socctoberfest, moving to 7-1-4 all-time following a 1-0 win over Northern Colorado on Sept. 4.
The Bluejays are an impressive 7-1-4 in Socctoberfest matches dating back to 2012, with wins over New Mexico State, Omaha, South Dakota Iowa State, Colorado College and Northern Colorado, as well as ranked draws against No. 19 Saint Louis and No. 13 Arkansas. Including this year's 1-0 win over Northern Colorado, Creighton has outscored the opposition 23-9 in its 12 Socctoberfest matches.
The Bluejays first Socctoberfest victory came on Sept. 5, 2014, when Creighton defeated New Mexico State, 6-0.
The Bluejay women's squad did not play during the 2013 or 2021 Socctoberfest due to schedule issues.

Sides Earns Spot on BIG EAST Honor Roll
Sophomore Olivia Sides earned a spot on BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Aug. 31 after guiding the Bluejays to a 2-0-0 week, posting a pair of 1-0 shutouts over Kansas City and Missouri.
The Maple Valley, Washington native anchored the Bluejays back line to their third consecutive shutout, while playing the full 90 in both contests.
Sides helped limit Kansas City and Missouri to just eight shots on goal during the week and has helped push its scoreless streak north of 317 minutes.
It Just Means More
For the second straight season Creighton has posted a result against a team from the mighty SEC as the Jays took down Missouri, 1-0, on Aug. 30 inside Morrison Stadium.
The Bluejays 1-0 win over Missouri last Sunday was a milestone victory as it marked Creighton's first win over an SEC opponent since the Jays defeated LSU 2-1 on Oct. 31, 1997.
Overall, Creighton is 6-6-1 all-time against SEC opponents, with five of the six wins coming over Arkansas (3-1-1) and LSU (2-0-0).

Home Opener History
Creighton opened the home portion of their schedule with a 1-0 shutout last Thursday against Kansas City to improve to 2-1-0 in home openers under head coach Jimmy Walker.
Including this year's win over the Roos, the Bluejays are now 23-10-5 all-time in home openers.
Creighton is also 14-6-4 all-time in its first home match of the season at Morrison Stadium since it opened in 2003 and have won 10 of its 14 home openers since joining the BIG EAST in 2013.

Creighton is in its 24th season of playing home matches inside the friendly confines of Morrison Stadium.
Since opening in 2003, Creighton owns a 125-67-31 (.630) record at Morrison Stadium, including a 63-42-16 (.587) mark at home since joining the BIG EAST in 2013 and a 22-32-6 record in home league matches.
Last season, the Bluejays finished with a 4-3-2 record at home, while hosting four of the top seven largest home crowds in program history, including a school record 3,895 fans for its crosstown battle with Omaha on Sept. 10.

Bluejays Claim 200th Home Wins
With a 1-0 win over Kansas City on Aug. 27, Creighton hit a major milestone by secured its 200th all-time win at home.
The Bluejays currently own a 202-101-35 (.649) all-time record at home, including a 125-67-31 (.630) record since moving into Morrison Stadium in 2003.
Prior to the construction of Morrison Stadium in 2003, Creighton played their home matches at Tranquility Park, where the Bluejays racked up a 77-34-4 record from 1989-2002, including the programs very first home win against Tarkio (2-1) on Sept. 16, 1989.

Hall Marks an Assists
Fifth-year Kailey Hall recorded one of the rarest stats for a goalkeeper to record as she dished out an assist in the Bluejays' season-opener against Colorado College on Aug. 12.
The Exeter, N.H. native collected the first assist of her career when she booted a free kick down field to Sarah Hyde, who headed a pass over to Olivia Duray before banking in the Bluejays first goal of the season.
Earning the first assist of her collegiate career, Hall became the first Bluejay goalkeeper to deliver an assist since Alyssa Zalac notched a helper in a win over Seton Hall on Oct. 24, 2024. Hall joins Zalac as the only two Bluejay goalkeepers to record an assist since 2010.
Production Returns
Creighton returns 13 of its 25 letterwinners but just four regular starters to the pitch from last season's team that finished 7-8-4 and finished fourth in the BIG EAST with a 4-3-3 league record.
All told, CU returns 33.0 percent of its starts, 34.2 percent of its minutes, 44.8 percent of its goals, 46.4 percent of its assists, 45.3 percent of its points, 29.3 percent of its shots, but return none of its saves off of last year's squad.

It Gets Earlier Every Year
Creighton's match against Colorado College took place on Aug. 12, marking the earlies start date for a season-opener in Creighton women's soccer history.
The previous earliest date ever came last season when the Bluejays dropped a 4-1 decision to Oklahoma on Aug. 14, 2025.
By comparison, Creighton's season-opener in 1998 didn't take place until Sept. 2.
Bluejay History in First Road Match of Season
Creighton hit the road for the first time last week when they opened the 2026 regular-season opener at Colorado College on Wednesday, Aug. 12. A few defensive miscues costed the Bluejays early as the Tigers claimed a 3-1 season-opening victory.
The Aug. 12th match against Colorado College marked the third straight season the Bluejays had opened the season on the road.
CU has not had the greatest success in its first road match of the season, falling to 14-21-2 mark all-time in road openers, including an 0-3 mark under head coach Jimmy Walker.
Of note, the Bluejays have not won its road opener since posting a 2-1 win at Kansas City in 2019 and has not won a season opener on the road since downing South Dakota State, 3-2, in 2014.
Some Fab Freshmen
Creighton freshmen Kassey Dzenis and Blu Kieper both got the starting nod in last Wednesday's season opening match at Colorado College, becoming just the 27th and 28th different true freshmen to start the season opener since joining the BIG EAST in 2013.

Four of those women (Jakubowski, Atkinson, Heinrich and Radke) went on to land a spot on the BIG EAST's All-Freshman Team, with Heinrich claimed Second Team All-BIG EAST in 2019.
Season-Opener History
A slow start and a few defensive miscues hindered Creighton in the 2026 season opener, falling to Colorado College, 3-1, on Aug. 12. With the loss, Creighton fell to 17-17-4 all-time in season-opening matches.
Since joining the BIG EAST in 2013, Creighton is now 5-7-2 in season-openers, including an 0-3-0 mark under head coach Jimmy Walker.
Walker is 8-10-1 all-time in season-openers, including a 3-7-1 mark at the Division I level.

Making an Opening Statement
Despite owning a 17-17-4 record in season-openers, Creighton goal discrepancy has been level at 56 goals apiece in its 38 season-opening contests.
In the Bluejays' 21 season-opening victories and ties, they have averaged an impressive 2.29 goals per game, which includes multiple goals on 14 different occasions. In addition, Creighton has posted 12 shutouts and limited its opponents to just 16 goals (0.76 goals per game) in those 21 contests.
CU, however, has only averaged 0.47 goals per match and has allowed 2.35 goals per contest during it 17 season-opening losses.

Creighton travels all over the country to find players to come to Omaha, Nebraska to play collegiate soccer.
This season, head coach Jimmy Walker has put together a more robust team with players hailing from 14 different US states and one coming internationally from Canada.
Last season, CU was represented by five different countries, including 22 players from 13 different US states.

Leading the Ship
Fifth-year Kailey Hall, seniors Clara Kulick and Tejia Murray-Powell, juniors Anna Bragg and Macy Felton, sophomore Olivia Sides and freshman Kassey Dzenis were selected to the coach's leadership group for the 2026 season.
All seven individuals are representing the team in a leadership role for the first time in their Bluejay careers.
