OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton women's soccer head coach Jimmy Walker announced the addition of transfers Tori Gillis (LSU) and Olivia Duray (Pitt) and Wednesday, January 8.
"We are really happy to be adding both Tori and Olivia to our roster," said Walker. "First off, they are both fantastic young ladies that will be very good from a cultural standpoint. They both have played at a very high level and will bring a lot of experience to the program."
Gillis, a midfielder from Leesburg, Va., arrives at Creighton after spending the previous four seasons at LSU. As a Tiger, Gillis appeared in 36 matches, earning 18 total starts while logging six shots in 1,672 total minutes of action. She recorded her lone point of her collegiate career, dishing out an assist in a 2-2 draw against Pepperdine in 2023. Off the pitch, Gillis excelled in the classroom earning a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team as a junior.
"Tori is a really good defensive player that can play as a center back or in the six," added Walker. "She is very good in the air, extremely technical and will be a presence physically in our defensive unit. We are really excited to bring Tori onboard as not only as she a really good soccer play but she is a fantastic young lady that will bring a lot of experience to our soccer program."
Prior to joining the Tigers, Gillis graduated from Loudoun County High School where she played club soccer for the BRYC Elite Academy and was a two-time ECNL Mid-Atlantic All-Conference selections. She guided BRYC Elite to a pair of Mid-Atlantic Conference Championships in 2018 and 2019 and was a 2019 and 2020 invitee to the Washington Spirit Training Center that is a designated development program for the top U17/18 players from Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. Originally from Woodridge, Ill., Duray will have three years of eligibility remaining after spending the previous two seasons at Pitt. The sophomore midfielder appeared in four matches during her first season with the Panthers, but did not see action in 2024, opting to use her redshirt option.
"Olivia is a fantastic young lady, a fierce competitor and will add a lot of professionalism to our program," stated walker. "She is coming from a very high level in the ACC, where she could play as an eight, a ten or even as a six if we need her. Her strengths are her ability to shoot, her strong passing and her ability to see the game as she adds vision and skill to our attacking unit. She is also giving us a presence, having competed at the ACC level as she brings great experience to the BIG EAST."
Rated as a three-star recruit by TopDrawerSoccer, Duray graduated from Woodridge High School where she finished her prep career ranked as high as the No. 6 ranked prospect in the Midwest region. Excelling on the pitch, Duray garnered Mid-America All-Conference national attention and participated at the USA Youth National Regional ID Camp in the summer of 2021.
