OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton University Athletics announced today three significant promotions within its leadership team, recognizing the exceptional contributions and continued growth of key staff members.
"These promotions reflect the outstanding leadership, dedication, and impact that Mike, Matt and Lisa have demonstrated in their roles," said McCormick Endowed Athletic Director, Marcus Blossom. "Their expertise and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in advancing our mission and supporting the success of our student-athletes, coaches and staff. These well-deserved promotions position our department for continued growth and success."
Mike Odom goes from Executive Associate Athletic Director for External Operations to Deputy Athletic Director, External Operations. In this elevated position, Odom will serve as a key strategic partner in the overall administration and vision of Creighton Athletics while continuing to oversee critical operational areas. During his two years at Creighton, Mike has helped generate record revenues through program-best achievements in ticket sales, corporate partnerships and licensing, while leading the department to historic attendance marks including the first men's basketball season ticket sellout and multiple top-10 national attendance rankings across volleyball, women's basketball and men's soccer. Under his leadership, Creighton's external operations have earned 10 NACMA 'Best Of' Awards and established new benchmarks in fan engagement, marketing excellence and student-athlete support. In addition, Odom serves as the sport administrator for men's basketball and baseball.
Matt Stolberg is now Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Compliance after serving as Associate AD for Compliance. Stolberg arrived at Creighton in January of 2023 and is in his fourth season with the Bluejays. He oversees many of CU's internal operations such as Athletic Performance, Athletic Training and Compliance. Additionally, Stolberg serves as the sport administrator for Creighton's men's and women's golf programs. He has played an integral role in the management of Creighton's NIL and revenue sharing initiatives, while also coordinating details of the House settlement.

A former Bluejay cross country and rowing student-athlete, Chipps has served Creighton in an academic support role since October 2001, was named Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services in August 2016 and assumed SWA responsibilities in April 2020.
