In their first two matchups of 2025, the Huskers defeated Northwestern State and Samford by a collective 183-92 margin. In each contest, Nebraska limited its opponents to exactly 46 points.Â
Most recently, in their second consecutive home game, the Huskers beat Samford 80-46.
The Husker offense was largely spearheaded by sophomores.
Sophomore Britt Prince led the offensive effort with a team-high 23 points on 10-of-13 from the field. Second year Petra Bozan added a career-high 13 points to go with six rebounds and two steals. Amiah Hargrove also recorded her second career double-double thanks to 12 points and 11 rebounds, adding three steals to her stats for the night.Â
The sophomores accounted for three out of four double-digit contributors for the Huskers. Junior Jessica Petrie rounded out the shooters in double figures with 20 points and five rebounds.
Defensively, steals proved to be a team-effort, as graduate student Hailey Weaver and senior Callin Hake each grabbed four to add to the 17 total by the game's conclusion. The team also earned a 37-31 rebound advantage.

Coming off an opening day loss, the Bluejays rebounded less than a week later, visiting Des Moines, Iowa and defeating the Drake Bulldogs 83-74.Â
After Kiani Lockett shot just 3-of-12 from the field in the season debut with South Dakota State, the senior guard made up for lost time, notching a team-high 25 points against Drake. The veteran paired her dominant offense with other contributions, recording seven assists, four rebounds and three steals.Â
Along with veteran firepower, incoming talent delivered solid performances in Creighton's nine point win over Drake.
Graduate transfer Grace Boffeli made her presence known in Bulldog territory, posting a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.Â
Freshman Neleigh Gessert also excelled in her 19 minutes off the bench, delivering five three pointers to add to 17 points on the night. The freshman also pulled in five rebounds and blocked two shots.Â
As a team, the Bluejays racked up 28 bench points and shot a collective 43.8% from the field and 40% from three.
Neleigh Gessert Shows No Fear, Dispatches Drake Zone
After starting her Bluejay career 0-for-7 against South Dakota State (Nov. 3), Creighton freshman came into the game at Drake (Nov. 9) without fear and without hesitation.Â
Facing Drake's zone, a defense the Bulldogs often employ, Neleigh calmly knocked down 5-of-8 from long range in the first half. She closed the first half with 17 points, forcing Drake out of its zone defense.
Drake Win Was a Team Effort
