OMAHA, Neb. - Twelve Creighton University teams posted perfect Graduation Success Rates and all 14 Bluejay programs performed at 80 percent or higher according to figures released by the NCAA. Creighton had an overall GSR score of 97 percent, which was tied for 17th-best nationally.
The GSR data shows the percentage of student-athletes receiving athletics aid and earning a degree within six years of entering college. The GSR formula removes from the rate student-athletes who leave school while academically eligible and includes student-athletes who transfer to a school after initially enrolling elsewhere. This calculation provides a more accurate appraisal of student-athlete success. The 2025 GSR numbers are based on freshmen who matriculated in 2018 and transfers who matriculated between 2015 and 2018.
Creighton turned in a perfect GSR score of 100 percent in volleyball, women's tennis, women's soccer, softball, women's golf, rowing, women's basketball, women's cross country/track, men's tennis, men's golf, men's cross country/track and men's soccer. It's the 21st straight year with a perfect GSR score for men's golf, women's golf, women's tennis and women's basketball, and the 10th straight reporting period that men's tennis has earned a perfect score.
Nationally, 90Â percent of student-athletes who started college in 2018 earned degrees. That figure is far better than the 74 percent mark when GSR tracking started in 2002. Ten of the 11 BIG EAST schools achieved an overall GSR of 91 percent or better.
The BIG EAST ranks third among all 32 D-I conferences with an average overall Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 94.91Â percent, which is nearly five points higher than this year's national average of 90 percent, and trailed only the Ivy League (98.25) and Patriot League (95.6).Â
Creighton is one of 21 schools with a GSR score of 95 percent or better in each of the last 12 cycles, joining Belmont, Brown, Bucknell, Colgate, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Davidson, Duke, Gonzaga, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Loyola (Md.), Northwestern, Notre Dame, Pennsylvania, Princeton, Stanford and Yale.
