Coming off consecutive losses to Nebraska and Northern Iowa, the Bluejays face UNLV and Northern Arizona in the Thanksgiving Turkey Tip-Off.
Blending seven new players with the four returners has been a challenge for 24th year head coach Jim Flanery.Â
A pair of early bright spots have been the play of sophomore Elizabeth Gentry and freshman Ava Zediker. Sidelined by an injury against Northern Iowa, Zediker leads Creighton with 13.0 ppg. Gentry has delivered double-digits in back-to-back contests.
Graduate transfer Grace Boffeli has also been a pleasant surprise in the opening contests with a pair of double-digit rebounds performances.
Gentry Making an Impact
After scoring just 23 points in 19 games last season, Elizabeth Gentry is making the most of her increased time. Gentry has 21 points in Creighton's last two games and already has 25 this season.
Northern Iowa and UNLV Both Saw 2024-25 Season Ended By Florida
Creighton last opponent (Northern Iowa) and its next opponent (UNLV) were eliminated in consecutive rounds last season by Florida as the Panthers fell to the Gators in the opening round of the WBIT last season, while UNLV went down to Florida in the second round.
