Magers Earns BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week

New York, N.Y. -- Creighton freshman Wilson Magers earned the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week honor, while senior Nolan Sailors was placed on the Honor Roll as the first set of conference awards were released on Monday, February 17.
Making his first appearance as a Bluejay, Magers earned the win in Creighton's series finale at UNC Greensboro. Wilson tossed five shutout innings, allowing one hit and one walk with six strikeouts.
Sailors closed the opening weekend hitting .417 (5-for-12) with three runs scored and two RBI. He closed the weekend with a .500 slugging percentage and a .417 on-base percentage. Over the final two games, Nolan went 5-for-8 (.625).Â
Magers, Sailors and the Bluejay squad return to action this weekend with a four-game series at Portland, slated to begin on Friday, February 21 at 5:00 p.m. (CT).
