OMAHA, Neb. – The Creighton women's soccer team added to its 2025 signing class on Wednesday, as head coach Jimmy Walker announced the signing of Mississippi State transfer Jalen Chaney.
"We are pleased to have Jalen added to our Creighton roster," stated Walker. "Transferring in from Mississippi State in the SEC and originally from Dallas, Texas, Jalen has played at a high level throughout her entire career. An explosive attack player, Chaney can play across the entire frontline or in a midfield position. She has good size, excellent explosiveness and is very athletic with a high technical IQ."
Chaney arrives at Creighton after spending the 2025 spring season at Mississippi State. Rated as a three-star recruit by TopDrawerSoccer, Chaney comes to Omaha with a reputation as one of Texas' top attacking forwards. In 44 games across three seasons, the Flower Mound, Texas native recorded 46 goals and 21 assists earning TASCO Second Team All-State honors, as well as two First Team All-District selections in her prep career.
Named a Top 2025 Player at three ECNL National Showcases, Chaney has displayed her scoring ability and clutch performances on a national stage while playing for Sting Black ECNL in Dallas, Texas. Chaney's explosiveness in the final third and her ability to break down defenses will add firepower to the Bluejays offensive attack.
"We remember watching Jalen play in club when she was committed to Mississippi State, and she is an extremely talented young lady," Walker added. "Jalen is a great addition that will help us on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
Chaney joins a talented group of Bluejay newcomers that includes incoming freshman Addison Dea (Morton, Ill.), Josie Holt (Nashville, Tenn.), Sarah Hyde (Plymouth, Minn.), Madison London (Limehouse, Ontario, Canada), Kennedy Moore (Omaha, Neb.), Whitney Scott (Dublin, Ohio), Olivia Sides (Maple Valley, Wash.) and Addie Wilkie (Overland Park, Kan.), as well as LSU transfer Tori Gillis (Leesburg, Va.) and Pittsburgh transfer Olivia Duray (Woodridge, Ill.).
