OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton Softball's Ella Dalton, Brooklyn Patchen, Kenzie Schopfer and Sydra Seville have been named to the 2025 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators. It's the second straight year that Dalton and Schopfer have landed on the Academic All-District team, while it is the first time for Patchen and Seville.
The 2025 Academic All-District ® Softball Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America ® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions, NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division II and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 17, 2025.
The Bluejays four honorees are tied for the most ever by the Creighton softball team in a single season, while Seville advanced in voting and will be listed on the CSC Academic All-America® Ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced in mid-June.
Claiming her second CSC Academic All-District® honor, Dalton boasts a .376 GPA in graphic design and film with a minor in business administration. A two-time NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete and six-time member of the Creighton honor roll, Dalton once again excelled in the classroom and on the field, posting a .265 batting average with nine doubles, 19 RBI, 19 walks and 29 runs scored.
A sophomore from Whitehouse, Ohio, Patchen owns a 3.58 GPA while majoring in exercise science. An NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete and a four-time member of the Creighton honor roll, Patchen posted a quality season in the circle for the Bluejays this season. The steady right hander led the way, posting a team-best 11 wins and a 4.18 ERA with 96 strikeouts in 124 innings of work.
Earning her second consecutive CSC Academic All-District® honor, Schopfer graduated this spring with a bachelor's degree in health administration and policy while boasting a 3.85 GPA. Excelling in the classroom and on the field, Seville recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing and management with a 3.56 GPA. A six-time member of the Creighton honor roll, Seville has also earned NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition twice and was named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team in each of her first three years. On the field, Seville was an All-BIG EAST selection twice, an All-BIG EAST Tournament Team choice twice and recently earning a spot on the 2025 NFCA All-Midwest Region First Team.
This season, the senior slugger led the BIG EAST, ranked tied for 15th nationally and set a Creighton single season record with 80 hits, including a BIG EAST single season record with 44 hits in league play.
