Women’s Tennis Falls at No. 45 Nebraska, 5-0

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Creighton women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 45 Nebraska at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center on Wednesday night.
The loss moved the Bluejays to 13-5 on the year, while the Cornhuskers improved to 14-6 overall.
NU jumped out to a fast start, earning the doubles point with wins at the top two doubles positions. Reya Lee Coe and Natalie Trigosso teamed up for a quick 6-1 victory on court No. 2, before Katie Spencer and Catherine Gagnon clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win at the top doubles spot.
Leading 1-0, Emma Rizzetto delivered the first blow, racing to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Teresa Tran at the No. 3 singles court. Coe followed with a 6-1, 6-3 straight sets win at the No. 5 singles spot to give the Huskers a 3-0 lead.
Yuzu Miyoshi would then clinch the overall duel with a 6-3, 6-3 straight sets win on the No. 4 singles court, moments before Spence closed the match with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at the No. 2 singles position.
Creighton's Sophie Schwartz and Livia Rodrigues Daud won their first set in both of their matches before going unfinished.
The Bluejays will close out the regular season on the road at Wichita State on Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m.
