Saw action in 32 games, earning 15 starts during her first season with the Bluejays ... Started 13 games at second, one at third and one as the designated player ... Ended the year hitting .191 on 13 hits, including two doubles and one triple ... Drew four walks and scored nine runs to own a .236 on-base percentage ... Collected her first career RBI and went 2-for-4 in her Bluejay debut against Purdue Fort Wayne on Feb. 7 ... Scored game-winning run in the Bluejays' 10-8 win over Kennesaw State (Feb. 15) ... Laced first career triple and scored the game-tying run against UNLV on March 1 ... Singled and scored a run during the Bluejays seventh-inning comeback win over Connecticut (March 28) ... Delivered a pinch-hit single and a run in win at DePaul on April 27.
2024 (Sophomore at Nebraska)
Played in 13 games, making two starts at second base and one as the designated player while slashing .267/.353/.333 with one double ... Scored five runs and drew two walks, while posting one multi-hit game ... Committed just one error in 20 chances, collecting 13 putouts and six assists ... Went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored in Nebraska’s 15-4 win over Montana on Feb. 17 ... Notched a single, a walk and scored a run against Missouri on March 2 ... Earned a spot on Big Ten’s All-Academic Team and was named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for a second straight season.
2023 (Freshman at Nebraska)
Appeared in 14 games, earning one start as the designated player during her first season with the Cornhuskers ... Concluded the season hitting .375 with three hits, including one double ... Serving primarily as a pinch runner, Smetter scored a pair of runs in Nebraska’s wins at New Mexico (Feb. 24) and at Omaha (March 15) ... Recorded her first collegiate hit, a double, in the fifth inning of a 15-0 run-rule win over New Mexico on Feb. 24 ... Smetter added hits in each of the Cornhuskers’ games against CSU Bakersfield (Feb. 25) and Northwestern (May 12) ... Off the diamond, Smetter was named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
Lincoln Southwest High School
A graduate of Lincoln Southwest High School, Smetter guided the Silverhawks to two Class A State Championships ... Smetter, the 140th ranked recruit by Extra Innings Softball, was a two-time Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star First Team Super State selection ... She earned Third Team NFCA All-American honors after recording a .493 batting average, a .590 on-base percentage, 27 stolen bases, 63 runs, 66 hits, .873 slugging percentage, 18 doubles and three triples as a senior ... Smetter also played club softball for Iowa Premier Gold National under head coach Greg Dickel.
