Petra Knight came to Creighton in June of 2021 after four years at Saint Louis. She serves as the primary athletic trainer for the Bluejay women’s basketball and rowing teams.
During her tenure at Saint Louis (2017-21), Knight was the athletic trainer for women’s basketball, field hockey and cross country. During her time with the Billikens she worked directly with current Bluejay assistant coach Jordann Reese. She also worked at Carson-Newman (2015-17), where she was the athletic trainer for men’s soccer, women’s basketball and tennis.
She was head athletic trainer at Ritenour High School in St. Louis (2013-15) and worked with the Murray State University softball team as a graduate assistant athletic trainer (2011-13). Knight earned a Master of Science degree in human development and leadership at Murray State in 2013. She is a graduate of Missouri Valley College with Bachelor of Science degrees (2011) in exercise science and athletic training.
Petra is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and the NATA Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee. Knight is certified as a professional rescuer through the American Red Cross as a corrective exercise specialist and a graston technique provider.
