Bluejay Women's Basketball Shines in Exhibition Opener, 117-66

Omaha, Neb. -- Asked to integrate five freshmen and a graduate transfer, Creighton Women's Basketball delivered an impressive 117-66 win over Missouri Western in the first exhibition of the 2025-26 season on Wednesday, October 22.Â
The opening stanza was guided by senior Kennedy Townsend as she steadied her young team with 11 points in the first 10 minutes. The Bluejays also got six points from freshman Kendall McGee as the Bluejays led 21-15 after the first quarter.
Creighton asserted itself in the second period saw the Bluejays leave to their culture, sharing the ball at an elite level with nine assists on 13 made baskets. The Bluejays dropped 41 points in the frame, getting contributions from all available 10 players. At the half Creighton held a 62-36 advantage allowing the team to coast to the easy victory.
The Bluejays forced 26 turnovers in the game, scoring 27 points off the Griffons' mistakes.Â
Five players closed the contest in double-figures, led by 18 points from Kendall McGee. Missouri Western got 15 from Ana Oliveira Dias.
Creighton has one more dry run as the Bluejays face North Dakota State on Sunday, October 26 at 11 am in Sioux Falls, S.D. at the Samford Pentagon Arena.
