Luke Baxter joined the Creighton women’s soccer staff in the spring of 2016, taking the role of the volunteer assistant coach. Luke specifically works with the goalkeepers.
In his first season, Baxter helped first year goalkeeper McKenzie Meola collect two shutouts and earn BIG EAST Rookie of the Week on Sept. 5 and BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Oct. 10.
During the 2017 season Meola continued to develop as the Bluejay backstop grabbed 116 saves and consecutive BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honors (Oct. 9 and 16)
Luke played at Bellevue University from 2008-12, at the club level with Lincoln City FC (1998-2002, 2005-08), Scunthorpe United FC (2002-04) and Bottesford Town FC (2010).
Luke earned his UEFA B coaching license in the fall of 2015. He also holds the US Soccer D, E, qualifications.
Baxter serves as the goalkeeping coach for the Nebraska Olympic Development Program, the Elite Girls Academy.
Baxter was as a volunteer assistant for Bellevue’s men’s Soccer team before joining the Creighton staff. Baxter graduated with bachelor’s degrees in health and human performance (2013) as well as psychology (2017) from Bellevue.
