Bluejay goalkeepers have posted 25 shutouts over the past three seasons. Last year the Bluejays set school records with 11 shutouts and a 0.60 goals against average, as no opponent scored more than two goals against the Jays. In 2009, CU ranked seventh in the NCAA with an .879 save percentage and 13th with a 0.60 GAA. In two of her first three seasons in Omaha, the Jays have had an all-conference goalkeeper, including Alicia Montgomery in 2009.
A coach at the collegiate level since 1998, Moschos has had a hand in six different programs. She has served as an assistant coach at Florida State, Iowa State, North Texas, Sacramento State, Wyoming and Davidson. In her time at North Texas, Moschos coached in the Olympic Development Program in Dallas from 2002-04. She remains involved with the ODP in Nebraska, coaching the ‘92 and ‘94 age groups.
At Florida State, Moschos helped get the Seminoles to the College Cup in 2006. She coached Seminoles’ goalkeeper Ali Mims, as she set an FSU season record for goals against average (0.65), along with 11 shutouts. FSU’s goalkeepers logged a 0.67 GAA for the season.
Moschos served as an assistant coach at Iowa State in 2005 where she was part of the Big 12 Coaching Staff of the Year after the Cyclones earned a program-best second-place finish in the Big 12 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The 2005 recruiting class at ISU ranked 26th in the nation and second in the Big 12. Under her tutelage, Iowa State goalkeeper Joanna Haig earned Big 12 All-Newcomer Team honors in 2004 and was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week twice. Haig went on to play for the U-20 US Women’s National Team at the FIFA World Championships and received All-Big 12 Second-Team accolades.
A graduate of Wofford College, Moschos was a member of the Greek National Team when it hosted the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics. She was named the Most Valuable Goalkeeper in the WPSL in 2002 while playing for the California Storm. In 2001, she was a Northern California Regional Pool member and selected to the Bay Area CyberRays training camp, as she was invited to the first-ever WUSA combine and draft.
In her collegiate career at Wofford, Moschos was named to the All-Southern Conference Tournament Team in 1997, as she captained the team in the school’s inaugural SoCon season. She was also an NSCAA All-South selection and was named the team MVP in 1996.
Moschos has received her premier, advanced national and national diplomas from the NSCAA. She has been an NSCAA licensed goalkeeping coach since 2000. In 1998, she received her undergraduate degree from Wofford in business economics. In 2000 she earned a master’s degree from the University of Wyoming in physical and health education and kinesiology.
