Knotted at 8-8 since the bottom of the seventh, North connected on his 10th home run of the season to deliver Creighton's seventh true walk off win in 2026.

Kansas answered with three in the second, getting a two-run single from Cade Baldridge and an RBI knock by Tyson LeBlanc.
Creighton wasted no time reclaiming the lead with three runs in its half. With two down in the frame, the Bluejays top five hitter reached to bring the Jays back in front at 6-5. Gump got things started with a double to right, then Wachsmann drove an RBI single to left. After a single from North and a walk by Nate McHugh, Capece plated his third and fourth runs with a single to right.
The Jayhawks pushed four across in the fourth to surge back ahead 7-5, but Creighton responded with an RBI grounder from Gump.
Trailing 8-6 in the seventh, Creighton drew within a run as Lew Rice scored on a throwing error. Moments later Nick Venteicher drove an RBI single to right to pull even at 8-8Â
Bluejay relievers Shane Curtin and Anthony Unga delivered their best performances of the season, tossing a combined six innings of shutout relief beginning in the eighth. The duo allowed just one hit and notched a combined nine strikeouts. Unga picked up the win (1-0) with three innings of flawless baseball.
