OMAHA, Neb. - Assistant women's basketball coach Angela Timmons has announced she is leaving the CU staff and joining former Bluejay head coach, Connie Yori's staff at the University of Nebraska. Timmons served on Yori's staff last season after completing a standout four-year career for the Bluejays in 2001.

The Jays advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1994, going 24-7, 16-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference, in Timmons' one season on the CU bench.
Creighton is currently under the direction of interim head coach Jim Flanery, following Yori's resignation on June 24. Yori stepped down to take the head coaching position at Nebraska after 10 years at the helm of Creighton.
For her career, Timmons averaged 11.2 points, 3.1 assists and 26.1 minutes per game. She averaged over 40 steals per season and was named MVC Player of the Week on three separate occasions. She also earned first-team all-MVC scholar-athlete recognition as a senior.
