Former Bluejay Leads Wizards Over Men's Soccer
8/18/2008 3:00:00 PM | Men's Soccer
KANSAS CITY, Mo. ? Former Creighton men's soccer star Michael Kraus assisted the only goal
for the Kansas City Wizards, as the Bluejays fell to the MLS squad 1-0
in an exhibition Monday morning at the Wizards Swope Park training facility in Kansas City. The match was scoreless until the 86th minute, when Kraus, who came on as a substitute in the 70th minute, helped create the only goal of the match.
The Bluejays played solid, with five real scoring chances snubbed out by the Wizards keeper. The CU attack mounted a few more challenges as well, but could not find the back of the net against the professionals.
The sixth-ranked Bluejays will conclude their exhibition slate when they travel to Ohio State to face the ninth-ranked Buckeyes on Sunday. Following their final exhibition match, the Jays open the regular-season at home on Friday, Aug. 29 with a 7:30 p.m. game against Gonzaga.
