
Women's Golf One Shot Off Lead After 18 Holes of Creighton Golf Classic

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton women's golf team stands just one shot off the lead at the midway point of the Creighton Golf Classic, which is being contested at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha.
After the first 18 holes of the two-round event, Northern Iowa and North Daktoa State share the lead with a 323 total, while host Creighton fired a 324 aggregate on the par-71, 5,950-yard course.
The Bluejays are being led by senior Betsy Conry and junior Ashley Norris, who both shot 79s on the sunny and windy day. Conry and Norris are tied for third, five shots behind Amy Anderson of North Dakota State.
Junior Maggy Hejlek is two shots back of her Creighton teammates as she sits in a tie for seventh place after firing a round of 81. Junior Maggie Kersenbrock is tied for 20th (85), and senior Maureen White sits in a tie for 27th place (90) to round out the competitors who counted toward the team score.
Creighton also had three golfers compete as individuals: freshman Celeste Gassman shot an 84 and is tied for 18th; freshman Jill Stuckenscheider shot a 101 and is tied for 43rd; and sophomore Jaci Thode carded a 107 and is in 47th place.

Tuesday's final round will conclude with tee times ranging between 9:23 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. central time. The first Creighton golfer to tee off will be Stuckenschneider, who will begin her final round at 9:42 a.m. Conry will tee off with the final group at 11:45 a.m.
