Bluejays' Women's Soccer Falls at DePaul, 2-0

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Creighton women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss at #13 DePaul on Saturday, Oct. 11.
The loss dropped the Bluejays to 9-4-1 overall and 1-3-1 in BIG EAST action. DePaul, meanwhile, remained unbeaten on the season moving to 12-0-2 overall and 4-0-1 in conference play.
DePaul got on the scoreboard late in the first half as junior Elise Wyatt converted a pass from Rachel Pitman, firing a shot into the lower right corner to beat Creighton's Danielle Rice in the 38th minute.
The Blue Demons added to their lead in the 57th minute as Amber Paul headed in a centering pass from Alexa Ben from seven yards away. Paul headed the ball towards the right corner of the net to beat a diving attempt by Rice.
Creighton closed the match with four shots, one in the opening period and three in the second half. DePaul, meanwhile, had six shots in each period.
Creighton returns to the pitch on Thursday, Oct. 16 as the Bluejays host Villanova at 7 p.m.
