Women's Tennis Ends Season With Setback vs. Marquette

Bluejays finish season 9-11
CAYCE, S.C. -- The 2015-16 Creighton women's tennis season came to an end on Saturday with a 4-0 loss against Marquette in the back draw of the BIG EAST Championships in Cayce, S.C.
Eighth-seeded Creighton ends its season with a 9-11 mark, while fifth-seeded Marquette wraps up with a 12-9 record.
Marquette earned the doubles points at both No. 1 and No. 3 to win the first point of the match.
Singles play was competitive, but Creighton won just one set. That came from Ashley Ishimura at No.1 singles, who split a pair of 6-3 sets with MU's Silvia Ambrosio.
Marquette earned the victory with wins at No. 4, 5 and 3 singles. Three other singles matches were abandoned once the Golden Eagles clinched the match victory.
The close of the spring season wraps up the Creighton careers of seniors Sam Anderson and Karlin Naslund. Anderson finished her career with 28 singles wins in spring play, while Naslund had 13 such victories.
