Women's Tennis Bounces Kangaroos For Lilly's 200th Victory

OMAHA, Neb. -- Tom Lilly won his 200th match as head coach of Creighton Women's Tennis as the Bluejays topped UMKC, 5-2, at Hanscom Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday.
Lilly is in his 19th season at the helm of both Bluejay tennis programs after finishing a career as one of the top players in program history, and owns 374 victories overall on the Creighton sideline. After the match, student-athletes from his team poured water on him in celebratory fashion before trading high five's.
Creighton (8-8) won all three doubles matches to quickly take a 1-0 lead in the match. Ashley Ishimura and Darby Rosette won 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, and Sam Anderson and Karlin Naslund followed at No. 3 doubles to clinch the first point of the match.
Michaela Henne won in straight sets at No. 4 singles with a 6-4, 6-4 triumph, and Rosette followed with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles as the Bluejays built a 3-0 lead.
Anderson clinched the milestone win with a 6-2, 1-6, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles over Linda Ammar Mouhoub.
UMKC (7-15) won the two matches at No. 3 and No. 6 singles before Ishimura closed out the contest with a win at No. 1 singles.
Creighton wraps up a busy weekend with a 5 pm match at South Dakota State on Sunday evening.
