LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Creighton women's golf team finished in 10th place at the Chip-N Club Invitational, which wrapped up Tuesday in Lincoln at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course.
Creighton fired rounds of 322, 312 and 318 to record a 54-hole score of 952 on the Par 72 course that measured 6,276 yards. CU's total of 312 in the second round was its best circuit of the fall.
Kansas State won the 11-team meet by five shots with an 878 total, five shots better than South Dakota State and 15 shots ahead of Florida International.
Creighton's contingent was paced by Kelsey Petersen's 230 (77-74-79), good for a tie for 25th place. Her second-round 74 was her best score of the season, and best mark since a 74 on April 11th during last spring's campaign.
Kelsey Johnson also contributed three rounds in the 70's. She sandwiched rounds of 79 with a second-round 77 to place in a tie for 37th. The 77 was also her best round of the fall.
Sarah Eversman tied for 43rd place with rounds of 83, 77 and 78 for a 238 total.
Rounding out the Bluejay line-up was Sydney Gillespie (83-86-82=251, 59th place) and Caroline Lake (83-84-89=256, 61st).
South Dakota State's Hallie Getz won medalist honors with a 3-under total of 213, including a final-round 68. She topped a field of 65 competitors and was two shots ahead of FIU's Camila Serrano.
The Bluejays host their lone meet of the season, the Creighton Classic, on Oct. 17-18 at Oak Hills.
