LINCOLN, Neb. – Senior Sarah Eversman tied for 19th place to lead the Creighton's Women Golf team to a seventh place finish in the Chip-N Club Invitational.

The tournament was hosted by the University of Nebraska, and was held at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course. Wilderness Ridge is a course that measures 6,221 yards with a par of 72. Eversman shot rounds of 79,80, and 78 which totaled her score to 237. Her score was 19 strokes behind meet co-medalists Audrey Judd (76-72-70=218) of Nebraska and Janet Yeo (73-71-74=218) of UC Irvine.

Despite the efforts of the co-medalists, Kansas won the eight-team event with a combined score of 903. Creighton's team score was 967, just beating out Nebraska-Omaha for seventh place by one stroke.

Besides Eversman's effort (79-80-78=237), Creighton's team was composed mostly of juniors; Rachel Grenko tied for 33rd  (83-80-78=241), Kelsey Johnson finished 49th (85-82-82=249), and Sydney Gillespie finished 53rd (82-86-86=254).  The last member of Creighton's team was freshman Margaret Hickey, who finished tied for 44th (80-77-87=244).

Competing as an individual and not factoring into CU's score was junior Caroline Lake. The Madison, Wis., native tied for 17th in the tournament after shooting rounds of 80,76, and 79 to total 235 strokes for the meet.

Creighton will return to competition on October 9-10, in the Drake Bulldog Invitational. The tournament will be played at Echo Valley Country Club in Norwalk, Iowa.
