Baseball Opens Home Schedule With Four-Gamer Against Utah Valley

Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton Baseball squad will open its 2017 home schedule with a four-game series against Utah Valley on Friday, March 17th at 6:30 pm. The series continues with a doubleheader on Saturday, then concludes at 1:00 pm on Sunday.

Series History
Creighton leads the overall series with the Wolverines, 3-1. The first and only meeting between the two squads came in 2015, in a series in Omaha. Creighton took the first two contest of the series as well as the finale. Each of the first three games of the four game series were close, including two one-run affairs.

Scouting Utah Valley (3-12)
Utah Valley dropped a four-game series at Washington State last weekend, but split a four-gamer the previous weekend at home against Indiana State. The Wolverines enter the weekend hitting .240 as a team, led by leadoff man Trevor Peterson's .351 average. Utah Valley's pitching staff,
meanwhile, holds a team ERA of 7.49.
