Women's Golf Wraps UP HBU Husky Invitational in Ninth Place

Sarah Eversman shoots a 75 in the final round
SUGAR LAND, Texas -- Junior Sarah Eversman fired a final-round 75 to help the Creighton Women's Golf team to a ninth-place finish at the HBU Husky Invitational on Tuesday afternoon in Sugar Land, Texas.
Eversman's effort helped her finish in 22nd place in the meet, which featured 13 teams and 75 competitors on the River Bend Golf Course that measured 6,085 yards and had a par of 72.
The Scottsdale, Ariz., native shot a 78 in the first round on Monday morning, finished play yesterday with a loop of 83, and then shot a 75 on Tuesday. She led the team in all three rounds, has led the Bluejays in all three meets this spring.
Annie Pearson and Sydney Gillespie both tied for 44th place with identical 249 totals. Pearson broke 80 for the first time as a Bluejay with an opening-round 78. She followed that with rounds of 85 and 86. Gillespie opened with an 80 and subsequently had scores of 84 and 85.
Caroline Lake was the lone Bluejay to improve on her score as the meet went on. She started with a 85 and 84 on Monday before a final round 83 to tie for 54th place.
One shot behind Lake with a 253 aggregate was Kelsey Petersen. Petersen shot rounds of 85, 86 and 82.
Sam Houston State won the meet with an 892 total, good for a +28 total in relation to par. Gianti Mahardhika won the meet. She opened with a 69, then had rounds of 74 and 73 to claim medalist honors by three shots over Lamar's Elodie Chapelet. Chapelet produced three straight loops of 73.
Creighton returns to the course on April 9-10 for the Kansas City Shootout in Kansas City, Mo., at Shoal Creek Golf Course.
