Senior Jade Owens Expected to Make Her Bluejay Return Versus Coyotes
There will be some weird symmetry for senior Jade Owens on Wednesday as the Illinois native returns to the floor in an official game for the first time since
March 16, 2016, a span of 966 days.
Owens has battled through a torn labrum in her right hip as well as a meniscus tear in her knee over the past two seasons and returns to the floor against the same team she faced on March 16, 2016, South Dakota.
Owens played in both the Bluejays exhibition game against Nebraska-Kearney as well as Creighton's closed scrimmage with Iowa.
Audrey Faber Named to Katrina McClain Watch List
Creighton senior Audrey Faber was named to the 2019 Katrina McClain Award Watch List, designed to honor the top power forward in NCAA Division I women's college basketball.
Announced on Thursday, Oct. 25 by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the women's basketball coaches association, the Katrina McClain Watch List was named after the two-time All-American and 1987 National Player of the Year, the annual award in its second year recognizes the top power forwards in women's NCAA Division I college basketball.
Kissinger Looks to Build on Impressive Showing in Exhibition Game
In Creighton's 100-68 win over the Lopers on Oct. 23, senior Brooke Kissinger
delivered an impressive 22 points. Kissinger was 7-of-10 from the floor, including 6-of-9 from long range to tie for team lead in the Bluejays win.
In First Two Battles With Coyotes Faber Delivered 40
Senior Audrey Faber has faced South Dakota twice in her three seasons, scoring 25 points in the first meeting, then 15 points last seasons. While Faber has been able to score with regularity against the Coyotes, her squad is 0-2 in those battles.
