Creighton Looks for First Back-to-Back Wins over Ranked Teams
Milwaukee, Wis. -- Creighton's opening weekend of BIG EAST play brings its second huge test and second ranked opponent as the Bluejays face #22 Marquette on Monday, Dec. 31 at 2:00 pm in the Al McGuire Center.

Series with Marquette: Creighton Leads 11-5
Creighton holds an 11-5 series edge on the Golden Eagles, but Marquette took two of the three meetings last season. Marquette has taken the Bluejays out of the BIG EAST Tournament in each of the last two seasons.

Scouting Creighton (7-5, 1-0 BIG EAST)
Creighton's winning ways continued with an upset win at #19 DePaul on Saturday to open BIG EAST play. The Bluejays have won six of their last seven, but continue to face a tough test with another battle with a ranked opponent in #22 Marquette.
In the win over DePaul, seniors Brooke Kissinger and Audrey Faber combined for 39 points to lift the Bluejays to the win.

Scouting #22 Marquette (10-3, 1-0 BIG EAST)
Similar to DePaul the Golden Eagles have dropped just three games, falling to #2 Notre Dame in its final game before the holiday break. Marquette open BIG EAST play with a lopsided win over Providence on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles are another balanced squad with six players averaging better than eight points per game. The BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year, Allazia Blockton, leads the Golden Eagles with 16.5 ppg, but guard Natisha Hiedeman is just a step back at 16.2 ppg.
Marquette likes to play up tempo, causing chaos defensively as the Golden Eagles force 20.3 turnovers per contest and average just over 11 steals (11.2) per game.
Flanery vs. Top 25
Head coach Jim Flanery posted his sixth win over a ranked opponent on Saturday, Dec. 29. During his 17 years at the helm for the Bluejays, Jim Flanery is 6-32 against the Top-25 teams. The win over the 19th ranked Blue Demons came 366 days after Flanery led the Bluejays to their first win over a team ranked Top-20 with a victory over No. 18 Villanova on Dec. 28, 2017. Kissinger Explodes for a Career Game to Lift Bluejays to Upset Win at #19 DePaul
Senior Brooke Kissinger exploded for a career-high 20 points, hitting seven of eight from the field in the Bluejays' 85-82 win at #19 DePaul on Dec. 29. Kissinger entered the game with the Blue Demons with six treys in her first 35 games as a Bluejay. She doubled that total with six from beyond the arc in the win.
The most exciting thing for Creighton is Kissinger's breakout performance is far from an aberration. The Nebraska high school record holder for career three-pointers, Kissinger has consistently been one of Creighton's best shooters in practice.
Flanery Completes BIG EAST Road Win Collection at #19 DePaul on Dec. 29
It took him six seasons into BIG EAST play for Bluejay head coach Jim Flanery to post a road win at each of the other nine sites. Flanery claimed road wins against Georgetown (1), Providence (2), Seton Hall (3) and Xavier (4) in 2013-14. The following season Creighton collected road wins at Marquette (5) and St. John's (6). In 2015-16 Creighton earned road wins at Villanova (7) and Butler (8), then the win over DePaul completed the set.
