Kendall tied for the team-high with 11 singles victories
NEW YORK -- Creighton men's tennis senior Brooks Kendall claimed a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team, the league announced on Monday morning.
Kendall finished 11-8 during singles play, including 10 victories at the No. 1 position, while helping the Bluejays reach double-digit wins (10-10) for the fifth consecutive season.
The senior also went 13-5 during doubles action, which included a 13-2 mark with Armando Gandini at the No. 3 position.
He finished his career with 82 victories during three seasons. The Prairie Village, Kansas native started his career at UMKC before transferring to Creighton. As a Bluejay, Kendall emerged from the middle of Creighton's lineup as a sophomore and junior to the top spot during his senior season.
"Brooks has come a long way in the three years he has played for us," head coach Tom Lilly said. "To start off at No. 6 singles his first year and work his way up the lineup with a lot of hard work is just something that doesn't happen very often. To cap it off with a great season at the top spot was so fun to see it all pay off for him."Â
Kendall also earned a spot on the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District VII Men's At-Large First Team and owned a cumulative GPA of 4.0 in Financial Analysis.Â
He becomes the third Bluejay to earn All-BIG EAST recognition, joining Harrison Lang (2017) and Billy Paluch (2014).Â
