Women's Soccer Closes Exhibition Season with 3-0 Win Over Missouri Western State

Bluejay Wrap Up Exhibition Play Undefeated
Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton women's soccer team finished off an unbeaten exhibition schedule as the Bluejays bested Missouri Western State, 3-0, on Thursday, Aug. 16.
Freshman Aline Reinkober got the Jays on the board in the 10th minute by taking advantage of a Griffon penalty. Reinkober drilled a free kick from 25 yards into the back of the net with 9:20 showing on the clock.
Creighton added to its lead in the 14th minute as junior Taryn Jakubowski fired a shot off the post. Sophomore Juelle Love grabbed the rebound, then sent a shot to the back of the net from 15 yards.
The Bluejays final tally came in the 59th minute as junior Kylin Grubb sent a pass from freshman Morgan Szarka past Griffon keeper Ally Barb.
Creighton outshot Missouri Western State 14-3 in the match.
Creighton opens the 2018 regular season on Sunday, Aug. 19 as the Bluejays travel to Iowa City to face the Iowa Hawkeyes at 1:00 pm.
