Creighton Hopes to Continue Undefeated Exhibition Campaign
Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton women's soccer team kicks off the 2018 regular season on Sunday, Aug. 19 as the Bluejays battle Iowa at 1:00 pm. The Bluejays look to repeat the way Creighton started the 2016 season, defeating Iowa 5-3 at Morrison Stadium.

Series History: Creighton trails Iowa, 2-5-0
The Hawkeyes and Bluejays have met seven times previously, with Iowa claiming five of those contests. Sunday's battle will be the fourth time the two squads have faced off in Iowa City, Iowa. Creighton is 0-3 in its last three trips Iowa. This is the second time in the last three seasons that Creighton will open its season against the Hawkeyes as the Bluejays claimed the last meeting by a 5-3 score on Aug. 18, 2016.

Bluejays in Season Openers
Creighton has a 15-12-2 mark in season openers all-time and are 13-15-1 in its first road match of the season. Under Paule the Bluejays are 2-1 in season openers, 0-1 on the road. This will be the second consecutive season Paule and the Bluejays open the season on the road.
The Bluejays fell to Iowa State 3-0 to start the 2017 season.
Scouting Iowa (0-0-1)
The Hawkeyes opened their season on Friday with a 0-0 draw versus Missouri. Not only was the final score a draw, the two teams each fired off 11 shots.
Iowa had six players on the pitch for over 100 minutes, including goalkeeper Claire Graves with 110 minutes. Graves closed the match with six saves. Last season she collected 75 saves and recorded seven shutouts.
Two of Iowa's top four scorers from last season did not see action, Devin Burns and Olivia Fiegel, but are on the Hawkeye roster.

Continuing to ramp up the Bluejays' schedule, Creighton opens the 2018 season with five consecutive road contests.
