Kruse recorded a career-high nine saves on Wednesday against Georgetown
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton men's soccer sophomore goalkeeper Paul Kruse earned the final regular season BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week award following his nine-save performance on Wednesday at No. 3 Georgetown.
Kruse set a career-high with nine stops as the Bluejays played the third-ranked Hoyas to a 1-1 draw. The result gave Creighton the No. 4 seed and home-field advantage for Saturday's BIG EAST Championship First Round match.Â
The Heilbronn, Germany native has started nine matches for the Bluejays, including the last five after returning from injury. Kruse owns 39 saves and a 1.25 goals against average during 862 minutes of action.
Senior midfielder Yudai Tashiro also earned a spot on the final Weekly Honor Roll after scoring the game-tying goal on Wednesday at Georgetown.
Creighton returns to the pitch of Morrison Stadium on Saturday night for a BIG EAST Championship First Round match against Butler. First touch between the Bluejays and Bulldogs is scheduled for 7 p.m.
