Series History: Creighton leads Georgetown, 14-4
Having only battled the Hoyas as members of the BIG EAST conference, Creighton won each of the first four series. The Bluejays, however, dropped the three-game set to Georgetown at home last season. Creighton is 5-1 against the Hoyas in Bethesda, Maryland.
Scouting the Hoyas (2019: 16-27, 5-4 BIG EAST)
The Hoyas are coming off a season altering sweep of St. John's last weekend, placing Georgetown in prime position to return to the BIG EAST Tournament for consecutive seasons. The Hoyas enter a midweek battle with UMBC having won five of their last six contests.
The strength of the Hoyas has been their trio of staring pitchers as Saturday and Sunday starters Nick Morreale and Jack Cushing have a 3.44 and 2.37 ERA respectively. Morreale is the reigning BIG EAST Pitcher of the week and the duo have a combined 132 strikeouts (66 each) in 115.2 innings. The Friday night starter, Jerry Burke,, is just a step back with a 5.51 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 63.2 innings.
At the plate the Hoyas have a team batting average of .256, led by Eddie McCabe's .312 mark.
