Nick Campbell Honored As BIG EAST Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week

Campbell picked up a three-set victory against nationally ranked opponent
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton men's tennis sophomore Nick Campbell earned BIG EAST Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The sophomore captured a three-set victory on Saturday against Iowa's nationally ranked Kareem Allaf. The Hawkeyes' No. 1 player entered the week ranked No. 60.Â
Campbell opened his match against with a 6-4 win in the first frame before falling by the same margin in the second. The Cyprus native rallied for the victory with a 10-4 edge in the deciding set. The Bluejays fell to the Hawkeyes 5-2 during Creighton's season opener.Â
Campbell earned conference athlete of the week honors once last season before securing All-BIG EAST Second Team accolades.Â
Creighton returns to the courts on Jan. 29 for the Bluejays' home opener against Midland at 12:45 p.m.
