Baseball Battles UNLV in a Road Weekend Series

Omaha, Neb. -- Continuing the 2020 season, the Creighton Baseball team continues its season-long 10-game road swing in Las Vegas as the Bluejays begin a three-game series at UNLV on Friday, Feb. 28th at 8:00 pm (CT).

Scouting the Rebels (2020: 1-7, 0-0 MWC)
Opening the season with seven of eight games at home, UNLV has gone just 1-7. The Rebels have dropped four straight coming into the series with the Bluejays.
UNLV has hit just .245 in the first eight games, yet 20 of the Rebels 34 hits have been of extra base knocks. Four Rebels sport an average better than .300, led by .353 by Eric Bigani.
On the Rebels have a team ERA of 6.23, but are guided by former Cy Young award winner Greg Maddux. His son Chase is UNLV's Saturday starter.
Scouting the Bluejays (2019: 3-3, 0-0 BIG EAST)
Returning to the road at 3-3, sophomore Dylan Tebrake has asserted himself as Creighton's ace. He has not allowed a run in 12.0 innings over his first two appearances.
The other two starting spots, however, have been less than desired. Against UNLV the Bluejays may give two new hurlers an
opportunity to start.
At the plate the Bluejays enter the series hitting .263 as a team, led by junior catcher David Vilches and his .375 average. Reserve Jack Grace is expected to see more time after his two-hit performance on Sunday at San Jose State.
